  1. I got a bottle about 8 months ago. I still have some of it. It's expensive, and not very good, to me. But, some of my friends love it.
  2. I think they need to prove the statement about selling more than they can produce. But, in any event, as long as I like the product... Yes, I'm interested, but... Hey...maybe I can turn HC3 into HC7 with some caramel syrup?
  3. That is a very good price, especially when you remember you get twice as much as in a pistol.
  4. Bacardi Añejo is good, I think. Finally got my local store to carry it.
  5. Garcia21, At first, I liked this rum, but the flavours are very strong, and I think, artificial. I taste more like butterscotch or butter-rum. A little goes a long way. You can use just a splash of this to flavour some less expensive rum. To test my theory, when you finish your glass of this rum, no matter how you drink it, refill the glass with Coke or water. Now see if you can still taste the Pyrat.

  7. Yes, I was surprised. The 12 is now the only one I haven't tasted...yet.
  8. http://www.flordecana.com/en/index_ie.asp 15 years old. Finally tasted this rum, on the rocks with a Cohiba Siglo II. Found it to be light, with a citrus aftertaste and a hint of caramel. Found the colour to be lighter than as described by FdC as "Dark Mahogany". Don't think it is as good as FdC 4, 5 & 7 year old rums of darker colour. But, it is very good.
  9. Hard work, but somebody has to do it.
  10. I think it's more like th' snake.
  11. It's about time, FdL! Welcome.
  12. Welcome, TomB. It's rum, there are several rums that are much like brandy.
  13. Top for TomB
  14. Try the RED Label, I agree about the Blue Label.
  15. A Warm welcome, but, not from the Carribean.
  16. Try a dash of water, a couple of cubes of ice, and a twist of lemon or lime.
  17. Merry New Year to all!
  18. I really like the Bacardi Añejo, which I have only found in Florida. It's a blend of rums from, iIrc, 2 to 8 years old.
  19. Welcome. Try Brugal Añejo & Bacardi Añejo, (if you can find it).
  20. Dave, bottles of HC from Spanish speaking countries say "El Ron de Cuba". Don't remember what the others say, exactly.
  21. Here's what my Cuban/American friend said on another site: "Yes, it is a Cuban Rum, not a very popular rum these days, but is up there with rums like Legendario, that were once the rave rums, now they are back burner rums, often forgotten. It is also available for export, but through limited outlets. About in the mid 20 U$D price range. Hints of maple."
  22. My source says: "Tecno Az£car, La Habana" whatever that means. Says same about Legendario
  23. I've got some empty bottles at home, will have a look. But seems some bottles of HC Silver Dry don't have the seal.
  24. Here's the updated url: http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/Afici...9906/ft699.html
  25. Not yet, Dom, on the Caney, although I had a chance this weekend. Yes, I'm sure it's Cuban rum, at least it's marked and sold as such.
