  1. Research is he11, but someone has to do it ...enjoy, and do a thorough job!
  2. Not that interested...
  3. Would it be to much trouble to you to post prices, please? Thank you.
  4. Glad to have you back, Dan! Will have to try these: Pyratt X.O., Pampero Anniversario, Appleton 21 YO and Cruzan Single Barrel, as they are less expensive...
  5. So, perhaps the made in Canada bottles are shipped to Havana? Or, "Bottled by Corporacion Cuba Ron, Havana Cuba"...just not actually bottled in Havana?
  6. do what Dan said, nice selection. How about Ron Zacapa?
  7. Well, sir, if you don't mention it, how may we know what to suggest? In other words, I would like to know WHAT you carry, before I suggest things you already have.
  8. Headed that way for a couple of weeks in June. Any restaurant suggestions?
  9. OK, thanks to a friend I can now compare the two. I really don't know how Añejo the Cuban bottle is, but it is 750ml, and has Cuba on the bottom of the bottle. Añejo (Cuban) has a rich, sugar cane alcohol taste, with a certain amount of caramel flavour, with a wonderful aroma. http://www.matusalem.com/Spirit/gran.html is supposed to be 15 years old? according to one web liquor store I looked at. Haagen Daz makes a Baileys Irish Cream Ice Cream. That's what the aroma smelled and the rum tasted like, with lot's on vanilla as well. Not enough to turn your stomach, like Myers does, but a little much. This was completley different from the bottle, which admittedly may have been fake, a friend bought in Costa Rica for $10. But, I enjoyed it... Do I like them? Well, I like the Cuban, but, for the price wouldn't buy either again.
  10. I'd bet a bottle of HC7 you are right!
  11. Thanks, but does not rum get MOST of it's colour from being aged in oak barrels? And if not aged long, or in oak, remains somewhat pale?
  12. Checked all the empties, only the Canadian ones have the country of manufacture on the bottle. A bottle of Matusalem Anejo does have Cuba on the bottom of it, however.
  13. K, Where I got it is a better SOURCE of rum, than info, I guess. Please be so kind as to point out the errors.
  14. I've got empty bottles from Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, and Spain. Will have a look on the bottom of them.
  15. It seems either Dan Smith, or my friend who brings it back for me, told me about it being bottled in Canada.
  16. The site USED to be searchable.
  17. I just noticed my Canadian bottles of HC7 from Ontario say made in Canada on the bottom. Don't know if I have one from Quebec or not. Here's a link other may find usefull, the site for the liquor control bard of Ontario: http://www.lcbo.com/
  18. Very interesting info. JOHN, is all rum bulk shipped to Canada?
  19. I agree, having finished the Brugal Añejo, and having had a few bottles of the V/X. But, will say the Brugal's not bad, for $12.
  20. While in Florida for the weekend, I bought the following: Matusalem Gran Reserva $23 non-Cuban , Flor de Cana 7 años $20, 5 años $14, and 4 años $12. Bacardi 8 años $17 and Añejo $17, and Brugal DR $12:biggrin:. Have had, and enjoyed all, but the Brugal Añejo DR. http://www.brugal.com/ Best of all, didn't break into my Ron Havana Club 7 años!!! They didn't have Appleton Extra  , V/X for $17 was the best Appleton's avail, and I already had a bottle of this. They also had Pyrat Planters Gold XO Reserve 750ml for $46, but I passed on this also.
  21. giacomo, that's "FREE TRADING", not smuggling Seriously, nice topic, can't wait to see responses.
  22. Well, excuse the f%$# out of me, I missed that part.
  23. How much info on Cuban rum?
  24. OK, so please give us an account of your trip, when you get a chance.
  25. Perhaps you could buy it from: http://www.neworleansrum.com/ In the uS? Yes, reluctantly, but, unless you pick it up yourself, freight will be rather expensive. :D
