  1. Seems I did a Dogpile search and came up with a story on this. Will look again. Sorry, can't find it. (Edited by Bolivar Petit Corona at 6:29 pm on Jan. 29, 2002)
  2. Varadero 3 & 5 year old Legendario Carta Oro 7 year old Comments, any one? Thank you.
  3. Have a friend buy HC15 on their trip to Cuba, or get in touch with John, who may be able to help you. (Edited by Bolivar Petit Corona at 2:37 pm on Jan. 29, 2002)
  4. Cuban M not imported into Europe any more, due to trademark dispute.
  5. Anyone have any comments on Hemingway's No. 1 Cachacha de Cuba, Ron Hemingway Extra Viejo Braun 7 años, Caribbean Club 3 & 5 años? Thank you.
  6. Liberación Añejo 7 años Light brown in colour with a strong sugar-cane alcohol aroma, this rum is surprisingly light and floral. The flavour is not strong, but pleasant, which is very different, compared to other Cuban 7 year old rums. Only 40% alcohol, but seemed to go to my head faster than others. The bottle is a translucent brown, and reminds me of a liter German beer bottle in shape and colour. Not the paint thinner I was expecting.
  7. LoL , you'd drink all the profits.
  8. OK, since I've had so many enthusiastic responses [LoL], I'll post a few tasting notes: OK, the Legendario is a nice, smooth rum, not as pronounced in flavour as the HC7 but good, nonetheless. Lots of sugar-cane alcohol aroma, as is often present in Cuban rums, especially in HC3. It is a medium brown in colour. The bottle is unique, came with a little cloth Cuban flag around it with a blue cloth coloured rubber band. Tonite, the paint thinner, er Liberación Añejo 7 años.
  9. Thanks for the post, Sandra. I think in the old days, rum was made in New England.
  10. I'm no expert, by a long shot, but I think you'd have to dilute prior to drinking.
  11. ๠-贄, or so I've been told. Look at the cA links I posted for Cuban rum, where they rate the various brands. But, obviously, they should look for Cuban Matusalem.
  12. Welcome, Cj! Buy HC15 in Germany, and pay less. Cuban rum is illegal in he u.S. So bring back all you can. If the Matusalem 15 is Cuban, it will become rare, as it is no longer made, nor exported, because of trademark issues. Only the non-Cuban Matusalem is marketed now. 13. Thanks, Ed for this thread, it's a good one.
  14. Thanks for all the help. This has been very interesting. It's not very hard to make me forget Ron Bacardi Anejo. BUT, will it make me forget Ron Havana Club Anejo?
  15. Thanks, fellows, anyone else?
  16. Is there such a place as Captain Tony's as in the Jimmy Buffett song? If so, this would be interesting.
  17. Thanks, Jason! Any comments on it's flavour, aroma, et c? Anyone else have some recommendations? (Edited by Bolivar Petit Corona at 11:31 am on Jan. 7, 2002)
