  5. Welcome Shubby. Rum drinkin' cigar smokers especially welcome. Do you live near Canada? If so, take a drive for Havana Club. Bring me back some HC3, I like it.
  6. Yes, even Memphis is a little too far north for figs.
  7. Could be what I got is cheap knock off???
  8. Hecho en Costa Rica If I remember my HS Spanish that means "Made in Costa Rica".
  9. Dan, I believe it is Costa Rican Rum, will post exact words, in Spanish.
  10. Actually, Dan, neither (I think). Will look again. But the Label does day FORMERLY (caps mine) of Havana, Cuba
  11. Hear me now, and believe me later: Cigars are much less expensive in the States, than in Great Britian. And I'm not talling about Dominicans, either.
  12. No, not going, wish I was. I've seen the 700ml bottles from Spain, Germany, and Switzerland, iIrc. 750 from US, Canada, GB.
  13. Look forward to your comments.
  14. A friend of mine paid $10 for a bottle of this, in Costa Rica. It is a faily light rum, although brown in colour, with 38% alcohol (76 proof). The bottle looks like a 750ml beer bottle, with a red screw top, and labels similar to that pictured on the Matusalem site, but glossier. The taste is similar to Bacardi 8 to me, although not as complex. Will post more notes, as I taste more of this rum. Would I buy it again? Sure, for $10.
  15. I honestly don't know, as far as NO is concerned, but have seen them as far as Ft. Walton/Destin, Florida
  16. Pat O'Briens :wow: And, believe it or not, there is now a NO rum, which I've not had: http://www.neworleansrum.com/

  20. Thanks, Dan. Yesterday, my friend from Buffalo brought me a bottle of the NEW Matusalem, which tastes similar to Bacardi 8 to me, and 2 bottles of HC7. Will try some more of the new Matusalem tonight for a review.
  21. Here's the link to their site: http://www.appletonrum.com/en/defaultFree.asp Bought some of the less expensive (Appleton Special Jamaica Rum) Appleton for $10.99. I like it, reminds me of Pusser's Rum, without the aftertaste. My 3d or 4th bottle in now empty. Now they are out. Also bought one that was $15.99. (Appleton Estate V/X Jamaica Rum). Haven't finished the 2d bottle, but it's very good, and much smoother than the $10.99 type. They are out of this, too. :( Helps stretch my HC. Took me a long time to find one I really, really like, that's not Cuban, AND available locally (at least it was). ;) "And a Fuente is only a Fuente, but a good Cigar is a Smoke." (with apologies to Rudyard Kipling)."
  22. Ilja sells the best cigars in the WORLD ;) But, the point being many cigar smokers are also rum drinkers, and may have the contacts you need.
  23. Perhaps Ilja will help you with cigars? http://www.cuesta-rey.nl/ :D
  24. Never heard of it... But, I'll take a look :0
