  1. Thank you Nola, Kentucky Fried Chicken is grown in Arkansas and Mississippi, as are the Pecans in those Christmas pies. If there's ham on the table, it's likely Bryan "the flavour of the South". West Point, Mississippi. The also produce all manner of meats. Coca-Cola (Coke) was first bottled in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Barq's Root Beer originated in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Eastern part of Mississippi is the Dairy State of the South. If you want Mississippi State Cheese, better get on next year's waiting list soon... 5. Certainly they can all stack up with Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Alabama, Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee! Catfish farming began in Mississippi, and many of the redfish, schrimp and oysters cooked in NO, are caught in Mississippi waters.
  6. jhlurie, I'm afraid the NO traffic would take me out, though. Sure seems like you know me, with the stress relief statement.
  7. Wouldn't have any money for rum and cigars if I lived there.
  8. The key to the regular NO po-boy is "Gambino Bread" shipped every business day out of NO to Jackson, Gulfport/Biloxi, and as far as Pensacola. From time to time, Popeyes, the chicken place, has a po-boy using a similar, but not as good, bread.
  9. Like that idea of making glasses from old bottles. Seems someone marketed a device at one time for doing just that. Anyone have any ideas/links about that?
  10. I've seen a Cohiba cognac, but not a rum.
  11. Sounds like HC3 will make those drinks well. I've a few recipes at home, will try to remember to get them.
  12. I have a solution to that one, John! e-mail will be sent.
  13. I've heard the same rumors, and I think they are true.
  14. Bought this last summer, while in Florida. It is nice!
  15. Aaach, that's like Cohibas that aren't from La Habana!!! Turns my stomach to think about.
  16. Am going to check out both the NO rum & Dorignac's this weekend.
  17. Jason, link doesn't work for me. Does the link still work for you?
  18. Here's a link to the Havana Club Mojito: http://www.havana-club.com/uk/cocktail_flash.html
