  1. Lower reserved suck if they're under the box tier overhang. I'd be careful with that location. It's generally better to be somewhere between first and third. It gets pretty cold in early April, so seats way up high might not be our best bet.
  2. I may be able to make it for lunch and baseball. Dinner is out though.

    Postpartum Meals

That sounds great! I usually make a big lasagna, or something easy to heat and doesn't require a knife because a new mom usually only has one arm free. I was lucky in that when I had my son last year my mother came for several weeks and did all of the cooking and cleaning for us, but several neighbors did bring food. Meatloaf, casseroles, salads, and some cookies. All of it was welcome.
  4. Vengroff, try Eat First the next time. I have never seen anyone eating General Tso's chicken there. I haven't tried them lately but their soups used to be excellent.
  5. Steve, that's approximately what we did last night at Zaytinya - would a similar approach be appropriate for CA also?
  6. Well, based on Fat Guy's review CA is a lock for brunch before our next round of theater tickets at the end of April. I'm not even sure I want to wait that long to try it.
  7. Thank you for the tip, Suvir. My father-in-law lives in Cherry Creek - we will have to take him to Bombay Clay Oven when we're there in June. Is it appropriate for families?
  8. Eat First in Chinatown Dynasty, Good Fortune, and Paul Kee (if it's still open) in Wheaton A&J, Seven Seas in Rockville New Fortune in Gaithersburg Good fortune has good dim sum on the weekends. New Fortune's dim sum is pretty good too.
  9. I'm reminded of a certain Seinfeld episode.

    Dinner! 2003

Aidells is great sausage - not at all dry - a tad expensive though about $7.00 for 4 sausages...Here is their web site... http://www.aidells.com/ The cornbread was a mix from Trader Joes - and its one of the best cornbread mixes we've eaten and it was very inexpensive - like $1.69 for the box... Thanks awbrig! We can get it at Whole Foods. Guess I'll give it a try. Our supper last night: Steamed broccoli Gkai Pad Gkaprow Our favorite recipe for this so far, and we've tried several Jasmine rice Sriracha For dessert, vanilla ice cream with almonds

Do you find Aidell's sausage dry? Scott always complains whever I buy lowfat sausage, so I haven't tried it yet. Your cornbread looks delicious! What recipe do you use?
  12. Hey, I've eaten at Big Wong! Good dim sum. Back in the 80's it was our destination after a night at the 9:30 club, because it stayed open until 5am on the weekends. Alas, no memories of the food. I was usually in such a state that I couldn't tell you what I was consuming.
  13. I recall a Chinese restaurant in DC named the Big Wong. Not sure what that was in reference to.
  14. Hm, must be a New England thing too. My Massachusetts-born-and-raised mom insisted on pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. I haven't done it since moving from home.
  15. I hate this policy. We have kids. If we bring the kids, we want to be able to sit down when we arrive. If we don't bring them, we won't appreciate having to add an hour on to the already steep fee we are paying the sitter. We would be more than happy to confirm with a credit card, but aren't given the option at most places.
  16. Lager with a shot of Rose's lime in it.
  17. His encounter with Crazy Bob is classic. Reptilicious, even. Scott is extremely jazzed that he hung out at Checkpoint Charlie's. Scott: "I've slept there!" (On top of the dryers, if you want to know)

    Hard Boiled Eggs

Egg salad. Mmmmmmmmmm. A little good mayo, dijon mustard, tarragon, scallions - and a good rusic style bread.
  20. Madelines would be a great idea. They're my daughter's favorite cookie. I was considering a cake, but a tart isn't a bad idea either. We are going to a dinner on Sat eve and I'd like to bring dessert.
  21. the horror...
  22. OK, I bought Desserts for Dummies, and checked out in the Sweet Kitchen from the library. The Daley book is half encyclopedia, so I haven't been able to spend much time with it. The Dummies book looks useful; not too may recipes, but basics with clear instructions. I'm going to pick a project for this weekend. Any suggestions?
  23. There will probably be a tacky US knockoff within two years. With John Ritter plating the Richard E. Grant part. And Courtney Cox playing Minty. She has to do something after Friends is over.

  25. Ouch!!! I stupidly touched the tip of my little finger to caramel once. I can still see the perfectly round blister it raised. Several hours in a glass of ice water did nothing for it.
