    Dinner 2025

I must have walked by this place a hundred times, but never stopped in until Saturday... It has only been on E. 11th St. since 1908. I picked up a few things; a sandwich, some roasted artichoke hearts, and a box of their fresh cheese ravioli. Which got turned into dinner tonight (or half of it did)... Cheese ravioli with burst sungold tomatoes, butter, Parmigiano, parsley and chives. Only complaint is that it's too damn hot in my kitchen to be cooking!
  2. Good news on the scare - but hopefully, in addition to that healthy crap, he's on a statin.

    What's it called?
  4. Note the instructions for the Japanese varieties of rice I get from The Rice Factory...https://trf-ny.com/pages/how-to-cook-japanese-white-rice They call for soaking all variations, some for 30 minutes, others for a couple of hours.
  5. Check the article above that @DesertTinker linked too, or any of the manuals for cookers with the umami setting for a more precise figure. For example, the manual for my cooker suggests a cooking time between 67 -74 minutes on the umami setting.
  6. No, I don't believe it's a rechargeable battery.
  7. I made a mistake by saying there is no way to replace the battery by one's self. I meant to say that I wouldn't be able to replace it; someone with a little bit of technical ability and a soldering iron would be able to! The unit still works with a dead battery, so I imagine that when the battery in my unit dies, it will stay that way.
  8. At that price, I think the scoop should cook the rice for us! I think you probably misread or the manual was unclear. There is an internal Lithium battery that the clock runs on. (Seepage 22 of the manual on this page). Of course the problem happens when that battery runs out, as there is evidently no way to change the battery by one's self.
  9. Lots of rosés these days: ' The 2024 "Camille" is a pretty, very pale pink/orange color with aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, rose and citrus, with a hint of stone fruits as well. The palate is light and elegant with subtle berry fruits, a hint of citrus and stone, and has nice density and length. This is a light and lovely rosé for all year enjoyment, sipped by itself or with grilled fish, white meats, salade Niçoise and mild cheeses - and it's a fabulous value! Just over $15!
  10. According to the manual for my model (NP-NWC10):

I haven't tried this, but it's always available. Just FreshDirect Meatball and Meatloaf Beef/Pork Mix, Raised w/o Antibiotics
  12. My inherited cooker has the umami setting, which I have never used. I'll give it a try next time.
  13. Where is P. T. Barnum when we need him?
  14. And, they are opening a Dishoom here. Soon, I believe. (There's already a Hawksmoor, which I like a lot).
  15. From Boston Magazine: The Top Restaurants in Provincetown Right Now The mishpucha get two mentions, which is nice.
