  1. No. It was pretty unremarkable.
  2. Sliced and into the freezer.
  3. Thanks for the recommendation, I just ordered mine!
  4. I can't seem to find an apron that is comfortable (no strap around the neck). I have several but none that I really like. Also they just seem to make me look big-as-a-house.
  5. Took the loaf out and it looks great. Too hot to slice and it’s late so will have to wait til morning.
  6. Took the dough out this morning and placed it in my proofer at 72 degrees F. before I went to town for chemo. Just now I dumped it out and shaped it and put it in the pan, Will let it rise again for about an hour or so then, hopefully, it will be ready to bake. So far it looks really good. It's back in the proofer at 76F until ready to bake, Soon, I hope. Now I’m hoping I put in enough salt!
  7. I have a Zo bread machine and the non-stick pan is like new even though it gets used a lot and is over 10 years old. Zo products are made to last.
  8. I couldn’t have buggered up this recipe more if I had tried. I was working with a halved recipe and mixed up the ingredients between full and half. Stupido! i kept adding more flour to the dough (before I realized my mistake). The resulting dough is ripening in the garage fridge until tomorrow when I’ll know whether it’s a total bust. Nevertheless, if this is a total fail, I'll try again another day.
  9. Rice is so cheap that I don’t worry about making more than I need. I can save the extra or toss it without pangs.
  10. Thanks, I will definitely use the levain!
  11. I'd love to make a loaf of that bread. is there a recipe I could follow?
  12. My Zo is more than ten years old, it’s the induction model. I've used it a lot and the inner pot is still like new. Mind you, I do not abuse it and hand wash it but unless there’s an earthquake here I don’t think I’ll ever have to replace it, I love this rice maker and would buy another Zo if anything happened to mine.
  13. There's a mountain of sourdough knowledge at KAF, I highly recommend it..
  14. I would use it to chill my beer and my cocktails. But I won't pay $100 for it.
  15. Yes, I can see that happening.
  16. That is a lovely looking loaf! Is that the 13” pan?

    Dinner 2019

:Store bought Yakisoba noodles stir fried with a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and snow peas and stir fry sauce. No chicken this time. I'm grateful there's enough for leftovers tomorrow. Sunday the nearby Catholic Church is doing a Corned Beef fund raiser dinner. I can’t wait; they make the best corned beef I've ever had and that’s saying a lot!

Perhaps there was not enough filler for all that meat. Also I see there's no egg in your recipe which would have helped bind it.

The ingredients don’t look too wet to me. How fatty is your ground beef? Btw, I like to use CI's recipe for meat loaf (omitting the bacon) and it turns out beautifully every time, and, it is delicious! nothing beats a meatloaf sandwich.
  21. When we were shopping for a new home in MT we looked at a few open-concept houses. I didn't like the idea of one huge room. What about the noise? How do you watch Tv when the d/w is churning in the background. How do isolate sounds? We opted for a more traditional Montana-style home that has wonderful flow. The rooms connect in any direction so it's nice for guests. And, the dogs can go nuts!
  22. If my CSO died I'd be on Amazon within seconds ordering a replacement. I love that thing and use it every day.
  23. My fridge is a Kenmore Elite and the ice make has been repaired twice, both times the whole unit had to be replaced. (Fridge is now 12 years old). I use my ice maker every day and would not want to be without it.
  24. I remember putting crab shells in the outside garbage can in the summer....you could smell them down the block.
