  4. I got ny sods siphon out of storage and it appears thatI've lost the part the attaches the cartridge to the bottle. I've been searching for replacement parts but so far I haven't found any other than for an isi. Any ideas?

    It's 13"x3".
  7. This photo made me want a Bloody Mary.
  8. I just don't think there's any aroma that can compare to that of freshly baked bread. I've been inspired all my life by the smell of my Mother's loaves and it's what's kept me baking all my life.
  9. Tonight I made a cocktail with the Bittermilk #5 (the charred grapefruit tonic mix together with white rum...and it it So good. Just rum, mix, soda (equal parts) and a squeeze of lime. So easy, just my style.

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

Really interesting...how big is your freezer compared to the average home freezer?
  11. There must be something in the air, my garage fridge went on the fritz yesterday. Couldn't believe my luck when I called an appliance repair company in a nearby town and the guy happened to be in my area on other calls (they only service my town on Tuesdays and Thursdays). So within a few hours (and a few bucks) my fridge was back in business. Thank goodness since it's still really hot here.

How do you store that much meat? Commercial food locker?
  13. Can I assume you made a foil sling to get the springform pan out of the pot?
  14. Maybe it's what's got hold of me lately. I'm already tired of 'summer foods'..although they're good I'm beginning to crave hearty soups. It's the cold weather roasted and braised foods that speak to me most. I keep thinking about Kale-potato-sausage soup and it's hot, hot, hot here along with super low humidity and range fires and smoke around us.
  15. Because I like my cocktails as easy as possible, I ordered this and this and this. I have #1 in the fridge chilling for the cocktail hour and I'm excited to try it! C'mon five o'clock!
  16. I absolutely have to make this!!! I've got nice corn, I just have to get the poblano and the pepper. Can't wait....what's better than fresh corn!?
  17. I will never ...Spend the evening with my hand in a glass of ice water after grabbing a ripping hot pan from the oven.

    Plastic wrap

I use a lot of these for leftovers and various parts of my dogs' food. Mine are similar to those shown but a bit taller in a couple of sizes that are just perfect; they seal tight and can withstand a drop onto my tile floor. one size fits a 16-oz. can and the other holds about 24 ozs. At any given time there are about four in my fridge.

I bought this Chic Wrap from KAF after reading so many rave reviews about it there. I was quite disappointed as it is very much like Stretch-Tite but thinner and flimsier, I didn't like it at all and for now am sticking with Costco's Stretch Tite. So far it's the best of any I've tried but I'm still looking.
  20. I think I'd rather have my eggs go stale more quickly than to have poop on the shells.
  21. Thank you... I was guessing it had more to do with the products being wet, like fish and veg and meat, as opposed to flour , rice, dried pasta, etc.
  22. If this was mentioned earlier here I missed it...why is it called a 'wet' market?

    Dinner 2017 (Part 6)

While rummaging in the overstuffed freezer the other day I came across a package of meatloaf mix that has got to be used. Despite the relentless heat (high 90s for the foreseeable future), I'm going to make my favorite CI recipe tonight. (that's what AC is for, right?) meanwhile I'm wishing for September!!!
  24. i have the Oxo Corn Stripper and it is really worth having. It's now a couple of bucks more than what I paid (a few years ago) from Amazon.
