  1. Im just wondering before in this Heat I enjoy a Personal Beverage is it possible , that the versions for out Friends from N.of.the.Boreder had too many letters on their versions ? From a Tire Company ? just saying the CSO that I have , w a lot of Patina is doing well. CSO2 is still in its semi box , where MC enjoys taking a view from time to time its all we can get. the Anova Team , bless them w their windfall seems to still be Skinny Dipping in Bora Bora doubt we will ever see their version and indeed a Rational Combi perhaps a smaller second on top for Bread is the way to go a member here some time ago posted about getting one of these in their home Vent , 3 phase power , etc congratulations to them

  4. @barolo thank you for the ref to the newer cookbooks. Im very interested in Rose Levy Beranbaum Rose’s Baking Basics and possibly Sister Pie by Lisa Ludwinski Ive never been much of a a baker , but have most of RoseLevyBeranbaum' s books and her PBS baking show. Id enjoy an opinion from the Fine Bakers here on these two books Im fortunate to have a large library system that gets most books and already have these two on reserve thanks again
  5. if you have any currants left , hydrate them, then sate them the small ones I got from Trader Joes almost irrelevant were small and a bit gritty. I dont recall if I hydrated them before using but I loved the somewhat tart , ' red ' flavor they added to home made fruit cake I did add 1/3 cut rum after baking , and matured them for 4 - 6 months maybe the Rum got together w the dried currants ? TJ's has not had currants , usually a few months before Christmas for years and years.

I have not seen any at Trader Joes for a long time , but I liked them way back when which is meaningless. consider other dried fruit , which you might need to chop to get to the right size a pain I know why not flavor(u)r you simple syrup a little honey ? almond extract ? I mention these a I do love Buns Sticky or not just like yours you've done the very hard part well : you made them and baked them! looking forward to your further Bum adventures.

  8. @kayb not difficult. what you describe is coffee , pre-ground in bags the cheapest available. passed through a coffee-system that has not been cleaned and left at too hot a temp for two long. why not get of hold of a manager and express yourself ?

  10. These days , its about advertising. and advertising creates fortunes that are made by implying something appears to be something else. It would be entertaining to know how much money is being spent to protect or exploit common words like Meat , Mayo , and Etc.
  11. for some time , in the WSJ and NYTimes , which I read there have been articles on food labeling and what the three terms above really mean these are exceptionally valuable terms commercially. this showed up : https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2018/08/28/animal-meat-missouri-law/1114285002/ I think its all interesting. is ' meat ' something from an animal ? muscle cells are being cultured , and labeled ' clean ' veggie burgers are a ' meat' substitute is ' Mayo ' and emulsion that contains eggs ? their are emulsions w no eggs in the supermarket calling themselves Mayo is ' milk ' something from a lactating mammal ?   14. @Shelby Nice. didn't know you had locally grown prosciutto Heee Heee do you have locally grown Galia Melon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galia_melon if you can grow this to ripemess you might really really enjoy this w your Local P. as far as I remember its a cross between honeydew and cantaloupe to die for when ripe.

    @HungryChris thanks for the pics ! Im glad a store like this is doing well enough to expand here and there. My Aldi is about 20 - 30 min away, and smaller and not that well stocked the few times Ive been there. Im a firm believer that decent competition helps everybody. how far away is your Aldi ?

    @HungryChris you have some of the finest ' fresh ' seafood around. Had I been in your area Id be digging for clams w this : https://electrek.co/2018/08/24/q-yachts-tesla-of-the-seas-all-electric-day-cruiser-yacht/ that being said i personally prefer doing more work in the kitchen and less on the plate. no matter Id carefully process those Beauties in the Kitchen then more time for Wine in the dining room just me.
  19. She had a French Bistro in the Boston area that I was unaware about. I could have afforded it on occasion as it was not expensive , but very French w a fixed price menu. I saw her on one of her earlier PBS shows and learned early on how tasty and inexpensive Blade Steaks were. the key was to cut out the central tendon before you plated , and have a a Large Labrador handy to catch the trim. I will always remember her point , in a classic french accent while cutting out the tendon :" These are for the Doug " I indeed later had a two large Labradors , but they never got the ' trim ' I have her books , and refer to " The Making of a Cook " from time to time. I have not see a T-Fal pan w a metal handle. any ideas ?
  22. its the second week oc competition. this year the banquet is in St.Bart's Great Hall , the oldest working hospital in GB the banquet is to honor the National Health Service. I mentioned The props might have taken over a bit. in todays ' leader ' there was this : for review purposes , the blue lights are rotating , and then the other things you see its not onto days menu , but Im guessing it a Dessert Comming Up. today this the Meat Course , and this ; this is Goat in 5 ways its a shame they didn't ask me to be a Judge ! hope someone can tune in.

  24. @Anna N possibly but probably not as you are an experienced Ricer not washed enough ? drip dried ? see you have already thought of those things and not let them effect Your studies. your GD might enjoy a small , but Fuzzy item you find for very little in a thrift shop. work on what youy have pls post future results. then there is Of Course the 3 qt iPot w various add ons.
