  1. Lately I have been trying to eat less carbs, so I've been munching on nuts when I need a crunchy snack. Love the Spicy Chili-Lime mixed nuts from trader Joes, but warning - don't eat them in low-light! What I thought was a sliver of almond with the skin still on it turned out to be a piece of dried chili pepper!

I love dried chili peppers! :) I can eat that with the lights off.. :D

  2. What is in the sauce and did you have it with rice or something else? I really enjoy bitter melon.

I usually cook it with beef but this time, I cooked it with pork. It shouldn't have a sauce but I just made a bit more sauce because I like the taste of the sauce with a little bitter taste from the bitter gourd. It is basically some water, a bit of soysauce, sesame oil, salt, and other ingredients sauteed until beef is cooked. I had it with rice. :)

  3. Hmm, I didn't realize folks were using Yelp or Urbanspoon for the reviews/ratings. I generally use them as data sources: what restaurants are near me when I'm in an unfamiliar place, hours, menus, prices, etc. I will read the opinions at times, but they're pretty worthless (to me).

I should agree with you on this one. I think Yelp should only be used for general information like contact details, menus, store details, etc. and not for the actual review of the restaurant ratings.

  4. If the restaurant is busy, I can tolerate 30 minute waits, particularly on straight up orders, or where I can see 20 people sat down at once, so long as the service is good and the waiters explain the situation.

Me too. I can tolerate that. But forgetting to punch your orders is definitely a different situation.

  5. This morning a DRTV-Email showed up in my Inbox with this.

    Eggies

I'm beginning to wonder about the seeming fascination and plethora of gadgets that attempt to deal with the "problem" of hard-boiled eggs.

Obviously someone thinks there is money in it! :hmmm:

So nice. I like this one. :) Anyone tried this here?

  6. I must say I'm really intrigued by the coke + ginger and coke + coffee combos. But in general, I love love love Coke Zero and think that almost anything added to it simply diminishes its pure deliciousness.

I am intrigued as well. I wonder how does it taste like. And how do you do it? Just mix them on?

  7. I guess it's just a matter of time before you get used to it. What I did is that I make sure to sleep at least in the morning and wake up until I finally feel that I have another energy to work for the entire ship. Try walking around when you feel sleepy during shift or get some coffee. :)

  8. It can also be a reason that the owners doesn't want to invest too much on their own website which maybe some of them doesn't really understand what a good and helpful website packed with information about their services can do to their sales. Or maybe some of them are not really into the internet thing. Some of them may also just created facebook pages where they can save money because it is free.

How hard is it to have an address and phone number easy to find, not have sections "coming soon" for months, and realize that not a single person in the universe wants music to start playing when they just want to see a menu?

Maybe the owner or the one responsible for the website doesn't really know what he/she is doing to the site so he/she might just accepted what the designers or developers suggested to do. (sometimes designers/developers can be just stupid to put up a music on a website homepage) And maybe they think that putting up a music will attract visitors to the website which I find very annoying for a website. Just my 2 cents.
