  1. Nope, don't have one. Should have mentioned that I used a stainless steel mixing bowl to cover the food to keep the moisture in while the buns and burger reheated on the griddle.
  2. I grew up in the St. Louis area and still make it up there once or twice a year to visit family. Looking forward to visiting your new restaurant in the near future. Go Cards!
  3. Leftovers from last night's dinner. I gently reheated the bun and the burger on the griddle, then added mustard and onion. I love leftovers!
  4. Our Traditional Labor Day Meal: Burgers on the grill - cooked on the steel. Served on toasted buns with choice of condiments, potato salad, deviled egg and beans.
  5. blue_dolphin, thank you for bringing this series to my attention. I binge watched all of the episodes this morning, although I did pause it quite often to go to the kitchen to work on my Labor Day menu items.
  6. Pan-fried Panko Crusted Chicken Breast, Fettuccine Alfredo (with homemade pasta & sauce) and Broccoli Casserole
  7. Thank you for taking us along! Wonderful blog!
  8. Onion Soup Les Halles adapted from Anthony Bourdain's cookbook: We wanted a bit more cheese...
  9. One of my lady friends has had a bad week. Her less than two year old refrigerator died on Sunday. Thankfully she has an extended warranty, but the process of getting the problem identified and the parts ordered has taken all week. What with the Labor Day holiday extending the time frame for getting her fridge back up and running, we met for lunch today at the Olive Garden in Texas City so I could lend her our electric cooler. I did not get a photo of her grilled chicken flatbread so I will share two photos of my calamari and toasted ravioli.
  10. Spicy Pork Tenderloin and Vegetable Stir-Fry with White Rice
  11. Thank you! Great idea re the green onion. I've got some started now.
  12. @rotuts egg salad was calling to me this morning! Egg Salad with Green Onion on a buttered Croissant with salted Roma Tomato
  13. After last night's heavy dinner, I wanted something much lighter for breakfast. I steamed a half dozen eggs on the stove top and, after letting them chill for a bit, had one for breakfast today. Easy peel! Perfect! Salt and Black Pepper added!
  14. Second meal cooked under pressure in my new Instant Pot: Beef Stew. Not your typical summer meal, but the pot roast was on sale and my husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy!
  15. We will be using the leftovers from the last couple of night's dinners for dinner tonight, but I just had to have some of last night's pasta for breakfast this morning. Just a small bowl, gently reheated, with more butter and black pepper.
  16. A very rich meal tonight! Freshly Made Pasta with lump crab meat and a lemon butter sauce and Chicken Scaloppini with bacon, mushrooms and artichoke hearts. And for their green color, a couple of sprigs of parsley from my yard!
  17. The third paragraph on the second photo of the flyer says they contact their media partners who broadcast the info in a timely manner.
  18. Please tell me you did not eat the whole thing! That is huge and beautiful!
  19. I really didn't know what I wanted to make for dinner tonight. Not really in the mood to cook, so my husband went out and brought home some Moist Brisket from our local Rudy's Bar-B-Q and I put a potato in the oven to bake. We split the potato.
  20. Today my lady friend and I had lunch at the Kona Grill in Webster. This was a return visit for my friend but a first for me. She had the Pork Tenderloin which came with mashed potatoes and baby bok choy. And I opted for the Fried Calamari with a spicy aioli and a glass of wine, as I was not doing the driving.
  21. Update: Was not sure where to post this, but I did another similar piece of corn in the micro but reduced the time to only 2 1/2 minutes. The kernals were better in that they had more bite, not so mushy as the one done at 3 minutes. The husk and silk still just pealed off.
  22. Pork and Beef Chili with Beans - first meal cooked in my brand new Instant Pot!
  23. First meal in the IP! I adapted my usual chili recipe to test my new toy. I used the Saute function to soften the onions and to brown the ground pork and beef. After draining off the fat, I returned the onions and meat to the pot, added the remaining ingredients and brought them up to a boil. Then used the Manual function to pressure cook for 5 minutes with Natural Release (which took about 25 minutes). I then added a maseca slurry to thicken the sauce and used the Saute function to bring the chili back to boil while stirring, then changed to the Keep Warm function for about 10 minutes before serving. My husband said I could keep feeding him like this!
  24. Thank you! I have the glass lid coming today. I have the little loaf pans, custard dishes and bamboo steamer. I am still looking through my cupboards to see what else can be useful. Am sure I will need to get more stuff! PS Inital test run successful!
  25. The inital test run has begun.
