  1. My lady friend, with the still not yet repaired refrigerator, and I had lunch today at one of my favorite places - Floyd's in Webster. My friend's meal of grilled redfish with a side salad was not photographed. I often choose to have their half and half crawfish, but today I opted for the grilled shrimp with onion rings. So good!
  2. Grilled Sausage (Pork with Garlic), Buttered Yellow Corn and Spicy Black Beans
  3. Thank you Shelby!
  4. My memory is from the 60's. We had what we called cinnamon toast. Ground cinnamon mixed with sugar and sprinkled over buttered toast. Haven't had that in years!
  5. Yum! I have the exact same skillet. Years and years ago, my MIL had bought what she had thought was a round skillet and had it shipped direct to me. I love it! It is my go to pan for cornbread.
  6. 'Instant Pot' Braised Chuck Roast and Carrots with 'Oven' Baked Potato
  7. Teriyaki Chicken with White Rice and Steamed Broccoli
  8. My lady friend with the refrigerator problem and I met today and had lunch at one of our favorite places, Michiru in Webster. She is still waiting for her refrigerator to be repaired but that is another story. We both had a cup of the Hot and Sour Soup. She had the Red Curry Chicken with Brown Rice. I had a good photo of her dish but inadvertantly deleted it. I hate it when that happens! I had the Szechuan Peppercorn Beef
  9. Sauteed button mushrooms and scrambled egg
  10. No bell pepper in my meatloaf! The green bits you see are celery. Celery and onion are sauteed until soft, but not brown, allowed to cool, then added to the other ingredients.
  11. Used up some leftovers tonight. I had a couple of frozen pre-cooked sausages that I thawed, simmered and sliced, then mixed with the last of the pinto beans. Both the sausages and the beans had jalapenos in them, so nice and spicy!
  12. A Granny Smith Apple, Sharp Cheddar and a glass of Pinot Gris. Cheers!
  13. Yay for Shelby! Blog on!
  14. Pan-fried Parmesan & Almond Meal Crusted Boneless Chicken Breast with a Creamy Parmesan & Garlic Sauce and Steamed Broccoli
  15. Meatloaf with extra bbq sauce and buttered Green Beans
  16. I love them. I, too, have been known to eat them right out of the can or cold from the fridge. Pintos, kidney, white, etc. are some of my favorites. When my husband and I were first married, he did not like any beans, except green beans. He said he did not like the texture. Over the years, he has gone from finding them okay to occasionly saying he really enjoyed them. But, if he was on his own, beans would not be likely to make it into his meal, other than green beans.
  17. Braised Pork and Beans
  18. General Tso's Chicken with Steamed Rice and a Side Salad I had never had General Tso's Chicken before, so can not compare it, but I found the breading to be very heavy and the sauce quite bland. My husband said it was okay and ate it, but I don't think I will go to the trouble to make it again.
  19. Breakfast Tacos! Hash Brown Potato, Scrambled Egg, Crispy Bacon and Shredded Cheese on a Flour Tortilla Rolled and Ready To Eat!
  20. We got full on the appetizers, so the General Tso's Chicken will have to wait until tomorrow night! Pork Potstickers Vegetable Spring Rolls
  21. I am going to make this tonight. Any tweaks I should make?
  22. Steak Night! My half of the grilled rib eye and a baked potato with butter, sour cream and green onions:
  23. Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup - Pork Flavor. Quick, cheap and filling.
  24. Cool, I did not know it had a name! Mine is not written down on a proper form, but I have a list I use and update each year when I make our annual Thanksgiving meal. The list begins with the menu and then I have my prep and cooking timeline. I make a printed copy which I post on the fridge. I check off the items as they are completed and make note of any changes in time, etc.
  25. Braunschweiger on Toast with Red Onion and Mayo
