  1. It's here!!!!!
  2. Thank you, I think! My husband wants me to make @Shelby's KFC fried chicken first thing. I told him we will see. Really looking forward to playing with and learning to use the IP.
  3. Finally bit the bullet! IP DUO 6 qt due for delivery on Tuesday.
  4. I told my husband that dinner tonight was going to be an experiment. I had a couple of leftover grilled chicken thighs, some button mushrooms that needed to be used, a rice cooker and a craving, so I did an internet search for rice cooker risotto and discovered a Wolfgang Puck recipe for Mushroom Risotto. I used his recipe for guidance. My husband said I could make this again! "Rice Cooker" Grilled Chicken and Mushroom Risotto
  5. Bacon, Egg and Hash Brown Patty
  6. Spinach Salad Supreme with Hot Bacon Dressing A bed of baby spinach topped with crispy bacon, chopped egg, red onion, sliced mushroom and black olives, roma tomato, craisins and avocado slices tossed with hot bacon dressing.
  7. PS I actually like some lumps in my mashed potatoes.
  8. Only lost one row of kernals, much the same if I had trimmed and husked before cooking in boiling water. No scissors required.
  9. After reading in the Dinner thread about cooking corn on the cob in the microwave while still in the husk, I had to try it. I did have one issue, in that my corn was already partially husked, so I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and laid it husked side down to protect the exposed kernals. After cooking the corn for the three minutes, I cut the bare minimum off the end of the ear and the husk and silk just pealed right off. Microwave Corn On The Cob with butter, salt and pepper.
  10. My masher and ricer sit side by side in their drawer. I have not used the ricer for potatoes, except once. I found that it was more trouble to keep refilling the ricer. I just mash the potatoes in the pot they were cooked in.
  11. Just a simple baked potato with butter, salt and pepper, sour cream and green onion.
  12. Store bought Fried Chicken and leftover Country Gravy. I pulled the chicken apart with my fingers and dipped in the gravy. Yum!
  13. Maybe poached?
  14. Old combo from my childhood, but technically it should have been made with white Wonder bread! I've made it with mayo instead of the Miracle Whip before but the mayo doesn't have the same sweet taste as the Miracle Whip. Oh, and the peanut butter must be smooth, creamy Jif.
  15. Breakfast by candlelight. An electrical storm came through early this morning and knocked out the power in our portion of the neighborhood for 3 1/2 hours. We have an all electric kitchen so made a sandwich for breakfast - Peanut Butter and Miracle Whip on Whole Wheat - and washed it down with a diet coke.
  16. On my own for dinner tonight, so used up some leftovers.
  17. Pico de Gallo and Guacamole with Tortilla Chips. I added some of the pico to the guac to kick it up a bit! We also had some refried beans for dipping but they did not make it to the photo op. My husband grilled the chicken while I did the veggies. Finished dish:
  18. I had that same problem last year and moved the seed from the utility room out to the (detached) garage. Pesky critters!
  19. Dinner last night was my meal as reported on the Create my meal - The Challenge thread. Guacamole, Salsa and Tortilla Chips Dutch Oven Drunken Pork Chops and Beans with Flour Tortillas
  20. @sartoric - Tag, you're it for the next challenge! All of the suggestions were great and will definitely be appearing on the Dinner thread in the near future, but @sartoric's suggestion of pork chops simmered in a spicy bean sauce just did it for me. So, let me present the results: Oh, but wait, first we had to have our appetizer while our meal finished cooking. Guacamole, Salsa and Tortilla Chips! And now onto our main course - Dutch Oven Drunken Pork Chops and Beans!
  21. Photo number one reminds me of what my orchids air roots look like when they dry out. Is it dried air roots?
  22. Sorry you are not feeling well. Please feel better soon. My best guess for the first item is some sort of dried mushroom. As for the second, not a clue, but looking forward to seeing what you do with them.
  23. I plan to make my meal Saturday night and @kayb's suggestion is exactly what I had in mind when I purchased the vegetables. So, unless I get another suggestion that changes my mind, it will be Spicy Pork Tenderloin and Vegetable Stir Fry with Steamed Rice for my meal.
  24. "Assume basic pantry items, eggs, sauces, pasta, rice, herbs, cheese etc are available." We like Asian, Mexican, Italian, Cajun, American... Please, don't let us go hungry!
  25. Okay, here you go, assuming basic pantry items are available: Duck breast Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Chicken Thighs Bone-in Loin pork chops Pork Tenderloin Avocados Red bell pepper Snow peas Button mushrooms A variety of canned beans
