  1. So call it Gully's Mischief
  2. The more the merrier! I did not get to Costco today, but will tomorrow. Don't forget to take pics everyone! And use recipes from the archive if possible, or put a new one into the archive, even better

  4. Me too. It was also my first attempt at entering a smackdown contest. I felt the same way!
  5. Marvellous. I'll put together an updated list and post it later on. There's room for lots more!
  6. You could also do a salad instead of vegetables. I'm off to do my Costco shopping tomorrow. I'm likely going to do sirloin burgers and salad with maybe a brie from there and who knows what else that I'll pick up while I'm there.

    The Keg

The other thing the Keg is very very good at, is customer service. If there's something wrong with your meal, they make it right, no questions asked. And usually, they'll either discount something from the bill or comp something.
  8. Pretty much anything is better than Chuck-E-Cheese
  9. I keep mine in my pantry cupboard

    Prime Rib for stew

Stews and braises yes. Marinade it a while and use for beef stroganoff, or a beef stir fry?

    Baked Brie

I finally did this yesterday. I used Red Pepper Jelly instead of a jam to spread on top. Rolled out the pastry and sealed it up. I didn't pinch the edges closed quite tightly enough, so some of the jelly leaked out, but overall, for a first attempt, I was quite pleased.
  12. Part 4 has jsut hit the newstands

    Quantities

I'm no help since I always make enough to feed the entire neighbourhood. My husband just rolls his eyes when I start listing all the things I'm going to make when we have company
  14. I went with my son's class last year. Ugh. The food is definately not stellar. The kids love it because they get to eat with their hands, but this is pretty much rubber chicken at it's best. The entertainment's not bad though
  15. This event is next weekend. There's still time to jump on board and A-Go-Go to your nearest Costco, Sam's etc. In so far: Shannon-Elise - Columbus, Ohio Ronnie_Suburban - Suburban Chicago Haggis man - ? Perlows - NJ Marlene Ontario, Canada ylm23 PA Who else?
  16. Italian Cream Cake YOu have to pm me to tell me what you're doing and what it ends up looking like. I just copied the ingredients, pressed "ingredient wizard" pasted then pressed "insert ingredients". I had to fix a couple of small things, but basically it went fine.
  17. Hubby and I zipped down to the Keg here in town last night for dinner. Now the Keg is not your upscale steak place by any means, but they usually provide a decent meal. And they have an outside patio . Last night's special was a Sirloin steak with a blue cheese and bourbon butter sauce, sprinkled with walnuts. You have to know the Keg to know that this is pretty much a quantum leap for them. I was a little skeptical of the walnuts, but I ordered it anyway. Ihave to say I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was a perfect medium rare, with a nice crust on the outside. The sauce was a touch on the sweet side, but nevertheless pretty tasty. I give them high marks for trying something new!

    Glassware

Why do you think Riedel is the best? How do they add to your wine drinking experience? I have Riedels and I also have 2 Riedel port glasses and 2 Spiegelau port glasses. I freely admit to being no expert when it comes to tasting wine, other than I know what I like. I find the Spiegelau to be slightly thicker than the Riedel port glass, and although I don't think there's much difference in taste, I prefer the feel of the Riedel. I've also had to replace the Speigelau's twice, but I've never had a Riedel break.
  22. You can use inventory you've already got, as long as you can use it in a recipe that can be posted in eGRA.

    Black pepper

I adore pepper. I have several different pepper grinders in my house I actually started using it when I gave up using salt a few years ago, and now, I can really taste the difference without it. I put salt on cantaloupe though
  24. When anyone chimes in to say they are in, please list your location/country as well. I can gather some stats then as to participation around the world, and possibly do something up showing the differences in Costcos marlene - Ontario, Canada is in.
