Funny, that's what crossed my mind.

I have the Polyscience and am very happy with it.

@Anna N and @kayb here is the finished product. It was very good, we managed to eat the whole thing!
-
@Anna N and @kayb thank you both. I am making this tonight. I cooked up a smoked picnic shoulder the other day and had thought of making scalloped potatoes to go with it, but this looks way better. Thank you both.
-
@kayb I must have mis-read your post. I thought you had found the recipe on-line, and wondered where you found it. I did find the book, but thanks for taking the time to post the link.

Where did you find this? I looked for it too, obviously your sleuthing skills are better than mine. When @Anna N posted this I wanted to take a big bite out of my tablet screen.

I read upthread somewhere that this thread does not necessarily have to be ladies who lunch, so a modest contribution from me. We had lunch today at a Korean place, which is a cafeteria type place in the basement of an office building. It is run by a Korean husband and wife and the food is wonderful. We go there from time to time, their specialty is Korean fried chicken which we have had a number of times but today I had the seafood pancake and John had the fire chicken with noodles.

It's always nice to have something to strive for. I'll do my best.

I usually take an extra step. First, they become part of my "wish list". One example of this would be the USA muffin tin that I put on my wish list a looooong time ago, like last Tuesday. Then, when I order something I really need, like the IP lid, I check my wish list, which forces me to actually take the extra step of transferring it from my wish list to my cart. I then pause to take 3 seconds to reflect on the total purchase (this is where I ask myself if I really need the items I am about to order and the answer is usually a resounding "hell, yes!) before I press the "submit order" button. See, that way nothing gets ordered without sober second thought. You may wish to try this.

Are they still in your cart?

Well son of a gun! The last time I checked Amazon there wasn't a listing for it, only one for the 6 quart. They are taking orders for it so I have put mine in. Thank you. Edited to add: no date on delivery of the lid but I also placed an order for extra sealing rings. Estimated delivery date for that is Dec. 6 through February, 2018.

You will love the mini! I'm hoping they come out with a glass lid for it as it would be useful when I use some of the other functions, such as the show cooking one.

You are an amazing source for recipes. Thank you for this one.
-
@robirdstx many thanks. I need to make this.
-
Thank you. This I could go for. Is there a recipe you can link to detailing amounts?
-
Do you cook the vegetables and the meat separately? I have seen recipes for beef stew that looked good but everything was cooked at the same time which made me think of mushy veggies. Yours looks delicious.
-
I wondered about that too.

@liuzhou those are fine looking fish and chips - especially the chips!

Your Daily Sweets: What Are You Making and Baking? (2017 – )

@cakewalk yes, i made them with the toasted sugar but can't really say if the fact that the sugar was toasted makes any difference in the flavour as the sugar on the outside caramalizes anyways. Thanks for the compliment on the tea pot. When I went looking for one, I was drawn to it because of the colourful polka dots. -
Would you be willing to share your recipe for the shrimp? I bought some of the spice a little while ago but have yet to do anything with it, and I have shrimp in the freezer.

What was in the Roti Canal appetizer? It looks delicious.

One of the things I like about the mini pot is that you can change the sautè levels while it is on simply by using the sautè button. No need to shut it off.
