Muffuletta, oysters, tater tots and onions rings for Fat Tuesday I used the method from Serious Eats for the onion rings--you cut the rings and then freeze them. Worked really well. Roasted chicken, potatoes and sprouts Last night Ronnie battled the wind and did steaks on the grill. I stayed in and made baked potatoes and broccoli --and Cheese Whiz!!

🤣 I will have to try your method, though. I can see the benefit. Especially the carrots. I'm not a big raw carrot fan.

@DejahNo, those shishitos are from Misfits Market that I order from online. Sometimes they don't have them..... Last summer was the first time we ever grew them in the garden and that was only because Ronnie's daughter brought us a whole bunch of plants from the place that she works because the planting season was over. They did surprisingly well. That's the first time I've ever seen the plants around here so I'm hoping I can find more for this summer.

Homemade Philly steak sandwiches The usual shishitos and fries and a pasta salad that was just ok....it was better after a night in the fridge, but it still needed something Last night Hot wings, romanesco and Mac and cheese
  8. My muffulettas are in the fridge. I also ordered a dessert so we will see. I think oysters as an appetizer. Ronnie will probably want fries.....but if I'm up to it I might to some onion rings too or something else kind of fun. I hope everyone stays safe in NO and elsewhere --let's not have a Covid uprise please.
  9. Try this one......I hope it works

Sure! Batter is a beer batter. Equal parts of flour and cornstarch--I usually do 1\2 a cup each Season--I like to use Lawry's salt, but plain salt is great or you could do something like a Cajun seasoning Drizzle beer in --I like a lighter beer ...we usually have Bud Light around so that's my normal. Pour the beer in a little at a time until you can drag a fork through and it leaves a faint trail on the surface. Edited to say--I bet the chicken is good the next day...but I wouldn't know because we ate it all 😄
  11. Dammit you enablers
  12. Again, not fancy like everyone else, but I did a banana strawberry sorbet yesterday. Pretty healthy and it's good!

@Paul Bacino WOW on the pig. Just wow. And, also, on the eggplant stir fry. I love eggplant. And, I drink the heck out of that kind of sparkling water. @Ann_TI'm going straight to your blog to find your sugar pie recipe. I want. @Kim ShookGlad to see I'm not the only heathen that eats garlic bread with pasta 😬 I got some boneless chicken thighs in my Misfits order so I could make @Kim Shook's and Jessica's Chicken Karaage. She's right. It's really good. I didn't have the potato starch that I thought I had, so I used corn starch. I think it worked just fine. Miso Aioli to dip the chicken in Chicken and a few of the egg rolls I made and froze a while back Drunken noodles Pizza night--sausage, jalapeño, black olive and mushroom It's been pretty cold here for a stretch of days so I did a big pot of vegetable soup. Need to do that more often. Makes good lunches. Big sandwiches to go with. Fried catfish and a few shrimp And last night was goose and noodles from the last goose that Ronnie got.
  14. We sure miss you, but, of course, we understand. Congratulations!!!!!!
  15. Misfits (guess I don't need to specify which company anymore since Imperfect dumped me) This was in the penny section. We'll see if it goes straight in the trash lol Hoping the blood oranges are good AND I got some boneless thighs so I can make @Kim Shook's chicken Karaage

@shainYour blue cheese looks amazing. @Ann_TI just roasted some chicken, but now I want turkey. And scallops. One of Ronnie's faves is broccoli, cheese and rice casserole. I had some fresh broccoli that needed to be used --and Cheese Whiz! Don't judge lol. Roasted chicken and breaded tomatoes to go with We smoked some turkey breasts a while back and froze them. Handy to throw in the SV bath and have big 'ole sandwiches. Last night was more SV--a pork tenderloin Salad, potatoes, gravy and some Brussels sprouts on the side
  17. No, it's a whole sandwich......but it doesn't get soggy at all. In fact, it gets better after a day or so.
  18. I've done both. The biggest challenge is the bread--and I don't do too bad at that--but, this year I'm ordering from Central Grocery in LA. Their store was shut down due to hurricane Ida. Pretty sure it still is. I thought it would be good to order and help them out...plus I love their bread . The sandwiches are getting here a few days early, but I think they will store fine in the fridge. If not, we will eat them a bit early and do something with shrimp.....or crawfish if I can get some here.
  19. I have my usual Muffuletta on tap. I just love 'em. Have some oysters, too. Might have the sandwiches a bit early and see if I can get some frozen crawfish tails......
  20. Ohhh that looks soooo good. I like pasta of mostly any shape.......with that I'd maybe do a thicker Alfredo or even a Mac and cheese. But I'd for sure eat it like you made it.
  21. Beautiful waterfalls. The spiders!
  22. Wine got here today!
