Had to do something about the squash. It was overtaking the kitchen. Gave some to friends and the in laws. Well...I should say we left it hanging on their mailboxes in bags. Who knows if they want it or not 🤣. Then I got the dehydrator out and I'm drying some to vac pack and use over the winter. Today I'll make a batch of spag. sauce. I always think I'm making headway until I pick the garden and come in the house with more than I used up the day before lol.

Unless the raccoons cart them off it looks to be a good year for watermelons and cantaloupes. I'll probably be starting a cantaloupe topic soon. Ronnie thought he was planting cucumber seeds and they were actually cantaloupes. We have a lot of plants lol. Picked anther batch of sweet corn. This wasn't as high quality as the last, but it'll still eat.

I just pre-ordered too. Maybe they will release it earlier. I can't wait!

Happy Birthdays to @kayb and @Norm Matthews!! I had periodontal surgery on Wednesday. Ugh. Not supposed to eat anything with seeds, but oh HELL no I can't not eat tomatoes!!! Hopefully I don't get myself in trouble lol. Ronnie caught some catfish yesterday so I did some up in beer batter.

Picked a few ears of sweet corn yesterday. Used the marvelous vacmaster. Got about 7 servings packaged up for us. Should have a lot more if the damn raccoons stay out of the garden.

Explains why there were none to be found today. Wasn't thinking about folks using them to put up garden stuff.

Ugh. I bought a bag of russet potatoes the other day. They looked fine from the outside at least half are rotten on the inside. Not much smells worse than a rotten tater.

@liuzhou skip this post, it will be traumatizing First of the sweet corn! Ribs--cold smoked, then in the IP then broiled and @Jaymes squash along side

WOW! Thanks for all of the descriptions and pictures. Rob I wish you could send all of that to Kansas . Chris, that's funny about the walleye. That is our favorite fish and they have been very hard to catch in the last few years. At most of the lakes that we go to the length has to be at least 21" and those are few and far between. All this to say that that dish stood out the most to me in the pictures. Oh and the hen's yolk is something I'd love love love to try. PS. Those eyeball pillows always freak me out lol.

@liamsaunt Could you tell me how you make that zucchini salad?

It's so old I don't remember how I got it lol. It was for decoration....then I decided it would be a good picking basket...then the handle fell off and Ronnie made one out of grapevine. The end lol.

Been steadily picking from the garden. Sweet corn is almost ready so I'll be blanching and freezing soon. Yeah, I'm in trouble already.

Happy Birthday @scamhi! @RWood Gorgeous zuke flowers. I've only tried to fry them once and failed miserably. I need to try again. Ronnie caught some nice catfish out of the lake the other day. Had that with the first green beans from the garden. Chef salads to use up some leftover steak and smoked chicken Last night venison cheeseburger pizza and salad

I can only get sushi from the big city grocery store--well maybe there are other places but I don't know about them. I'd kill for some grocery store sushi right now. I go to the grocery store so early that they don't have any made yet. Annnnnd....not sure I should buy some but they have always worn masks and gloves so I think it would be safe..... All this to say, I'm super jealous @Franci

I've ordered things in the past from Marky's. Not for a few years. However, it was always shipped promptly and the products were of good quality.

Gazpacho looks so good. I've never made that ...I'm thinking this summer would be a good time to try it. I like your idea with pairing shrimp with it. Ronnie always has to have a protein. AND that Old Bay Hot Sauce! Wow! I had no idea they made that. I googled but wasn't able to find some to buy except for Ebay and it was like triple the price I bet. I hope they make some more.

First salsa from the garden And a taco salad made using Cool Ranch Doritos. Don't judge lol. OH it was good. Spanish rice done in the IP.

Had to go to the pharmacy this morning so I also sped through the store to pick up a few items. Most people were wearing masks. Why is it that the people who refuse to wear them are also the ones that get all up in my personal space??! 😡 I don't know if I hit the store on the wrong day or what but the store looked like it did back in March when everything was sold out. 4 packs of paper towels and probably 6 packs of 4 of TP and all off brand. Very few ramen noodles. Two boxes of Stovetop stuffing. I usually buy two at at time, but today I just bought one so that someone else could have some. I wanted a few avocados. They were sad piles of black mush so none came home with me. I went down the soda pop isle just to see. Looked like plenty of everything on that front. It's weird how different parts of the country sell out of certain items.
