    I think the issue on raw eggs in US is that they are scrubbed - lose their natural barrier but boiled should be equivalent to others

    Well it is Green Thursday and my cultural roots are tugging. A green soup and an egg scramble with spinach. Only greens here are Italian parsley and spinach and I see young nasturtium leaves in the big patch. This Saveur menu appeals - maybe next year https://www.saveur.com/a-green-thursday-feast/ Hampered by limited kitchen access today... I ditched the gumbo - started to sound unappealing. Anyone else going Green today?

  11. As kid - like Ding-Dongs or Ho-Hos they represented play options in how to eat them. Eat around circle without breaking or? The other two- layers or bite through.

    I am in "can things get any worse" mode so I am going with tradition as a luck charm - a kinda green gumbo tomorrow - Green Thursday. All I have is spinach, parsley, and soyrizo but it will be good. Gardeners weed whacked the mallow but I see some nasturtium popping up prettily so what the hey.

  20. An aside - when I have done birthday meals or the ninety-eight year old dad I included a menu as a take home souvenir with a note like "in honor o your..." Older people like that tangible item to hold and look at later I think.
  21. Like both o those. I leapt to a simple but pretty phruit salat --6th letter o alphabet disabled due to hot beverage spill. A mix o colors and sorts simply"dressed" with squeeze o mandarin

  24. Oh now you have my mind on lobster chips. Thick little discs with good taste. Like the Moricho ones here https://www.seriouseats.com/2013/08/taste-test-asian-shrimp-lobster-crab-chips.html They have squid also. BUT can't get to Asian markets so no dice. Oh and Calbee wasabi shrimp chips...
