Ling - The idea of Foie Gras doesn't do it for me at all, but even I am salivating at that picture - It's absolutely beautiful. All those syrups and crispy bits. Wow! Shop-bought Ice cream, but the star is the syrup - Sherry, black pepper and root ginger. The smell of it warm is amazing.
-
Great flavours, Pille. Looks pretty hefty. I made Grape cake yesterday, using my new rented house's electric oven. It's not too bad.
-
Marvelous looking burgers, Shelby. Did you catch the name of the mustard seeded cheese? It looks like Y-Fenni, a Welsh cheese with mustard seeds in it.
-
Rob - I smell Dog Soup! And why not? she's already seasoned up!
-
Ce'Nedra - I would eat that. I truly would. I can imagine it would be just like jerky. mustard and peppercorns and we're good to go!
-
Awesome cheesecake, Mark. It looks exactly like the inside of what we call a 'Vanilla slice' - ie. Semi-set pastry cream between two layers of iced puff pastry. I love the design on the top and the cherry is just painfully Chic.
-
That Char Siu Pork looks absolutely textbook. If ever it's on the menu, I get it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Char Siu means "Twice cooked"? Roasted and stir-fried/grilled. Either way, it's truly miraculous the way seemingly overcooked pork can come out so moreish. Great stuff, Bruce.

Looks great, Ce'nedra - Looks a bit like a Kinder Surprise, lol.
-
God dammit! At least the plate is OK, and you didn't injure yourself!
-
Pille - I don't know what those things are, but I want them. I love the rich burnt orange colour of the jelly. Inspired by Mark Bittman, I've gone all Minimalist with Apples in sweet-spiced apple syrup with black pepper. (Bought Meringues, btw. My oven sucks.)
-
sazji - Those look absolutely phenomenal. Leeks are one of my favourite onion cousins. David - Beautiful presentation, and the chicken looks like it's beyond perfectly cooked.
-
Hmmm... How about: Maple syrup Meringue with Fall fruits Ice cream. or Spiced pumpkin Cream Horn. I'd buy either, lol.
-
Cool. Play-doh made your hands smell so bad.
-
Haha, Rob. I love the way you did that in Poker-hand fashion. "#615 for Amoretti. Read it an' weep!"
-
Mark - That looks awesome. How do you achieve the different coloured stripes?
-
Oooh, how about a Nutella Croissant pudding? Exactly what you think it'd be, lol.
-
Wow, Joe. It looks like you could scale that thing. Mt. Cookiebirthday. Not a lot of messing around today. I did plums on spiced oat cream.
-
Oooh, apronstrings! They're like dream sequences in cake form.
-
Quite an accomplishment, Rob. Congratulations!

I'm going back to University tomorrow, so I only had time for something really simple. Little almond sponges with honey-poached apples. They were delicious.
-
Yeah, exactly. Kugelhopf are those twisty bundt cake ones aren't they?
-
Brioche is what I eventually thought they'd end up like actually. Well, healthier Brioche. I tried yesterday, just adding a little more baking powder and baking soda. The word "overkill" comes to mind.

How about a (totally authentic) Pineapple Zuccotto? That one has raspberries in - Maybe you could substitute with pineapple/reduced pineapple juice. I'm talking like it's that simple. It's so easy to suggest things for others to do that you would have no idea how to do yourself.
-
fryguy - Great looking meat. Perfectly cooked! It kinda looks like a little Pork Turtle, lol. In a good way.
-
Right. I'll try tomorrow, Mark and let you know how they go. Should be interesting.
