  1. I'm also familiar with the drinking game, or at least the concept. I've never had the onions to actually go for it. Si(mon) ← Wow - insomniac & Simon, you made me curious about this drinking game, so I looked online and found out what it's about (just to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything!) That's alota drinkin! ← I never ever reached the red wine stage and it now seems highly unlikely that I ever will
  2. crabsticks (blech) feature in an English production titled Catterick starring a comic(?) called Vic Reeves. He plays D.I. Fowler of the NYPD (North Yorkshire Police Dept. geddit?). Part of the action is set in a pub (the Siberian Khatru) where one of the regulars, Glen, has a definite thing about crabsticks. Both crabsticks and the show are an acquired taste............ UK viewers only, I would guess.
  3. That would be Withnail and I. Si ← Thought it would be someone this side of the pond to get this one first...I am unfortunately familiar with the drinking game Handmade Films, where would we be without them?? hey Simon at first I thought you were signing off all your posts in Spanish
  4. Is No. 14 with the moving chicken David Lynch's Eraserhead this movie really freaked me out
  5. Is No. 9 Cinderella?? breakfast tray with a mouse
  6. Mystery Men ← yep, that movie was a shocker, viewed intermittently when I was walking thru the room the kids were watching it in, but there were a few funny lines
  7. a visit to the Globe, Shakespeare's theatre, is really worthwhile FFB ..sorry I'm lazy I've cut and pasted the info below: Open all year round, Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition is the world’s largest exhibition devoted to Shakespeare and the London in which he lived and worked. Housed in the vast UnderGlobe beneath the theatre, the exhibition explores the remarkable story of Sam Wanamaker’s struggle to rebuild the Globe and brings Shakespeare’s world to life using a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations. Find out how special effects were produced in Shakespeare’s time; join the cast and add your voice to a scene played by Globe actors; watch a sword-fighting display; see a working printing press in action or discover how actors are dressed in Elizabethan clothing. An exhibition visit and theatre tour lasts about one and a half hours. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS if you hire a car Stonehenge is only an hour and a half or so from London, an easy drive on a main road, and you could spend time and be back in a half day or so. (I live an hour or so further on and pass it regularly, never seen it busy) PPS just read a review of a superb Othello but not in London, unfortunately
  8. well done Forest for remembering ExistenZ.....the bone eating scene is truly stomach churning can I add one more?? ** We've got a blind date with Destiny - and it looks like she's ordered the lobster. **
  9. Easy Rider....i thought it was such a cool movie til I saw it again recently
  10. brilliant Varmint...I love that movie; my favourite line is 'the dummy's right' when the ventriloqist's dummy warns of the raid.....hahahahahaha
  11. A boyhood fantasy of mine: Ann Margaret covered in chocolate syrup. Tommy is the answer. ← the scary bit was Jack Nicholson trying to sing
  12. Done, gladly, though I be as much a gentleman as thee! Also, let me add one more request for those offering solutions: Please repeat the full clue as well as the number in the most recent list. It's easier to keep track of that way. ← You should be Pontorma ...............oops, sorry Pontormo as bad as thinking Shalmanese was a lady.................(I'm a dude man was quite funny)
  13. no, sorry nikkib
  14. FFB, I love the North Sea fish resto near Russell Square tube but I just checked a few websites and there are some dud reviews from about last August. Maybe an egulleter has been there since as I haven't??
  15. Pontormo, Toliver, gentlemen, may I add another clue to No. 3:the male lead is an English pin-up, the female lead American with an actor dad (no longer with us) ps. another clue for No. 2: the guy aspires to win a girl above his station in life. The movie could be called sexist and vulgar, but has become a bit of a cult classic for the male star
  16. Is it Practical Magic caroled????? rings a bell (faint )
  17. Good morning Toliver, just checking if No.10 is Octopussy. Would like to add to the clues for No. 3. the director famously weaves the psychological with the physical, sometimes reality and fantasy are blurred. i.e. he's a bit weird ps think No. 9 is Hello Dolly? (dumplings light as air)

    The spice of life

    1. cardamom 2. white pepper 3. star anise (not including herbs)
  20. please god someone stop me,............................. don't know the movie but simpsons episode 'Dancin' Homer' had the red hots line in it....that is seriously all I'm posting today as I am even starting to annoy myself
  21. I can't find who you are talking about but if it's Martin Yan, he drives me crazy counting out loud the number of 'chops' he makes...I found myself inadvertently doing the same thing which was disconcerting, sort of mental Tourette's found your posts...some seem to not appear on the thread?? I'm sure that's the way Martin Yan talks all the time leviathan. After 18 years in Hong Kong (me, that is, not Martin )he just sounds normal to me and is distinctively a HKer (mainlanders speaking English who are not from Guangdong sound totally different, always remind me of the Wessex accent from where I am living at the moment in the UK )
  22. You have to admit, it IS rather inconspicuous. There's no exterior denotation for it, and it's just a counter and a refrigerated case after you do walk in. On the other hand, in China, at McDonalds, they have this spicy chicken sandwich, made with thigh meat. The KFC there has something similar. I ate so many of those while I was there. ← It's definitely got a Starbucks sign on the outside cos I took a photo of me standing next to it...I just looked at it and thought why?????
  23. I got a deal thru Venere and booking early for around €90/night for a double with a bay view from the small balcony (if you leaned out a bit )
  24. Otto: No hassle. There's plenty of time. I'll just sit here and eat my chips till you tell me. The English contribution to world cuisine: the chip. What do the English usually eat with chips to make them more interesting? Wait a moment! It's fish. Isn't it? [Dipping into the fish tank with a net] Oh! Here, boy. Down the hatch. [Eats the fish] Delicious! Ken: You b-b-b... Otto: Better eat the green one? OK. What's this one's name? Well, not Wanda, anyway. I'm going to call her Lunch. Hello, Lunch. Hello! [Eats the fish] Ew! Avoid the green ones - not ripe yet. Good call Forest, another classic ps. I'm leaving this game, it's too addictive and I need to earn a living sometimes
  25. Octopussy for the sheep's head and dinner with the enemy and Magda 'the soufffle won't wait..' but the important egg is Faberge??
