Granulated garlic is just about the only kind I ever saw my grandmother use...so I use it. (shh dont tell her)Its a must for dry rubs and seasoning burgers and other meat for grilling and also for last min reseasoning of a dish that might just need a little something. Jeff I soemtimes just boil a few garlic cloves with the potatoes for mashing T

I can't grasp what kind of problem Ricotta cheese would pose. Properly made ricotta cheese is made from whey from milk that has been heated to make Mozzarella, that whey is re-cooked to make the Ricotta, then you are taking it in the form of a Ravioli and boiling it. Not eating raw seafood is probabley a good idea, I would assume its all cooked within a seafood risotto. Working in shop with a nice cheese dept a few years ago I first started hearing about all these new restrictions, they would drive me nuts...unless you smuggled it in yourself you aren't going to find a whole lot of unpasturized soft cheeses in New Jersey tracey

I actually spread it very thin in a zip-top bag so I can snap off pieces all winter Although last week I shattered my Pyrex measuring cup full of it when I decided it was ok to leave the stick blender standing in the cup. Greasy green glass was fun to clean up tracey

Paul If your oven happens to be new there may be a switch to turn off the safety feature...it is know in some circles as the Kosher switch, so that Saturday's lunch can be cooked without touching the oven. tracey

When I recently heard that a former co-worker was involved with a new place featuring Sliders I offered my daughter a free lunch and we headed over. The store was previously a Japanese restaurant and retains the low counter seating as well as 2 and 4 top tables, they have decorated with blue cafe curtains and raided their curio cabinets to fill the shelves behind the counter. The menu is a work in progress, actually their laptop was open to the design work. Running through the handwritten menu and the specials board was a tasty experience. Today's special was a grilled chicken breast "slider" with flavorfull hot sauce, lettuce, and mayo. We split a hot dog with Dirt Sauce a thick dry chili sauce with big hit of clove in the background and a pleasant bite. But what about the burgers? This is about the burgers right? Well carmelized onions smooshed right into the little meat cookies almost like a crust and good meat to bun ratio. Crispy non-shoestring French Fries and pickle chips and we were all set. 190 Franklin Tpk Mahwah NJ So yes I know the cook....but the food is still good Tracey

I just realized last night I have been thinking about chili and "French" onion soup for about a week, but then reflected on how a big dish of spaghetti with homegrown tomato sauce sounds good till you get overheated eating it. T

I spent many years working in delis and didnt like mayonaise, getting to taste tuna, chicken, and potato salads first thing in the morning was ummmm special. Like gak, gak, needs salt - gak, this ones good. And of course being up to your elbows in the crap. I had to make someone else taste the egg salad or deviled eggs, that just went too far tracey

If my only concern was vermin ie rats, mice, and bugs I would always choose the restaurant in a free standing building, or a building with no other food. A tenant of any kind can do only so much if an entire strip mall or city block of buldings is infested....the store on the right sprays the second Tuesday of the month, 2 doors down sprays the first Wednesday of everyother month....those not killed instantly just move down the line From what I know the Board of Health requires some type of spraying schedule for all restaurants, wether it works or not depends on the neighbors. We had it bad one place I worked....chipmunks. Ok not the worst I had seen but they were annoying Tracey

Right after Burger King changed their Fries..about 10 yrs ago, I started getting the Burgers there and hitting McDonalds for Fries. I never got McDonalds burgers because it was such a production to get them with no Ketchup Now I am just happy with Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich and their fries are fine too We have no Checkers, Popeye's is 30 miles away, and its an hour wait at the new Sonic T
