at 11:30AM, I had a Chinese pork pie and a garlic bagel with butter (Dunkin' Donuts, not the best, but acceptable) at 12:30PM, I had one of those french plums, which i'm accepting it as, without further research until later. -

No. You can call me Goddess, though. Her royal Highness...Princess...She who must be obeyed...any of those will work. K the rest of you can do that. i'll figure something else out. it may even be complimentary. snicker, snicker. YOU may call me just about anything you like (I might draw the line at "bitch," but then again, I might not) as long as you bring the vodka. K i wouldn't call you bitch. too easy. not creative enough. i actually like bitches. got more bite to them. -

correction: that plum shaped thing (which might just be a type of plum i don't know about) is more of a slightly elongated sphere. and it is more purplish than i thought, but not the deep purple i think of when i see grapes. just had one now. -

so didja think we had whole, skim, and 2% all in the house? i think the only egulleteers related to each other by blood are NeroW and fritz brenner. batgrrl and col klink are married. Fat Guy and Ellen Shapiro also. the Perlows as well. chefette and Steve Klc. anyone i'm leaving out? -
yea i know. You're envious too? Or were you the funny little man sitting beside me on the bus who kept looking at my lunch? see how envious i am? i'm even envious of those 3 eggs and deli meats.

What plum shape and colour because plums come in several shapes and colours? I'm guessing this unknown fruit is good since you had two? I love different fruit. Apples are so out except when cooked. very, very, very deep dark red. darker than burgundy, almost purple. spherical. What's the flesh like? very much like the plums i've had. a little denser though. -

okay, been busy and out all day. 8:30AM, furry pork bun (yook soong bao): shredded pork, very furry, on the top of a chinese baked bun 10AM, large cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee 11:30AM, small cup of coffee 12:45PM, beef brisket (Jewish not Cantonese kind, although not strictly traditional or Orthodox) sandwich on a slice of cinnamon raisin and a slice of wheat 9PM roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe from Tony Luke's, Krispy Kreme donut from mini-mart, not bakery store -
but i think a key point in that respect, to all 3 of you, is that you're all into food. much of FG's post that you're responding to I took as being about young hipsters that are less into food, and more into the scenes and partying, etc. not that you are not into scenes and partying, but the additional draw of the food has more value to you, such that you are willing to save up for these precious meals.

does anyone know what this fruit is? I really wanna know. -
and i thought you ate it raw!

well maybe that's part of it. if these chains don't do it anymore, and pollo campero does, why is that a problem? to me, it points the finger even more at popeye's and others, who developed the system, then fucked it up, allowing competitors to take their thing and make it better. that plus various other factors mentioned.

i do a little, but not much. i like helping out when i go visit people, though. i usually wash the rice and put it in the cooker. otherwise, set the table. i need to cook more. when i'm home by myself i try various things, but then there's less motivation b/c doing it all for myself, not worth the hassle. elyse, don't do that on my account. wouldn't mind working on non-burger edibles that day. and i only found out about my friend's thing yesterday. -
i think it's better for people to slowly explore more and more of the site. too much at once and we'll overload your precious newbie minds.

i balance myself out. like i said, you should see what i eat when i go out. but today and yesterday, i'm just at home. when i'm out and about, i exert more energy, need more fuel. sam, been to the GSI at 48-50 and 6-8th ave. that was good. had forgotten what spicy food can taste like. few bottles of vodka? whaddya trying to do, recreate sammy's roumanian? -

howja know i wasn't gonna say skim? on a normal basis, i don't really eat a lot. even at bobolink, i really didn't eat that much. i ate a respectable amount. but when i let go, i can really shove it in. katie has seen me do that at a few of the DDC dinners. -

I want to have dinner at your house. tell ya what, sam. next time i'm in new york (actually, planning to see a friend november 1), you and kathleen/kathy/katherine/variant thereof can take me to chinatown and we can have all the intestines, tendons, etc. you want. i'll even sit there as you two blast throaty operatic scores at me. of course, i'll counter with bad canto-pop. and i'll have the backing of the restaurant's sound system. -
not a dc person, but in general, you'll probably be better liked if you don't behave.

ding ding ding, we have a winner. it was a long tough fight. i just couldn't get enough solid hits on him. then when he hit me with that right uppercut, i just went down for the count. the winner, in ten rounds, century, by a knockout!!
