  1. Oh that will also be an option once the nice weather gets here. Nothing like sitting on your deck having lunch enjoying the sunshine. The mileage from the new offices to the driveway of my complex.. 7miles... priceless!!
  2. Forgot about Chipotle in that other area of Secaucus. Will have to get my fix every now and then.. Have one four doors down from my present office. So far haven't heard of any "heathly' places, but it's a start..
  3. The company that I work for has decided to move their offices from NY to Secaucus. Are there any decent places to have lunch? Am I going to have to brown bag it? I'm not really a deli sandwich or a Burger king type.. Don't dissapoint me...
  4. What location in NJ are you interested in knowing about?
  5. Picnic Chef, Was there a special menu for New Years? Thinking of going Sunday afternoon for lunch.
  6. Take Passaic Ave exit off rt#3..make a right turn onto Van hougton Ave . About 4-7 blocks on the right hand side is a 'Basics" supermarket. They have all these items. It's a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. It's where I go when I need them.
  7. In Montclair try: Corso 98 Fascino's In Ramsey..Cafe Panache
  8. A Rye based cocktail sounds interesting...care to expand on some of them.
  9. Once it was the Cosmopolitan..then it was Mojitos. What is it now?
  10. I grew up in Rutherford in the late 60's and there were three Supermarkets, then. The Medical Center across from The Williams Center used to be a Grand Union. I lived on Sylvan Street and it was great having a store right down the street. Also , where the Rite Aid is located on Park Ave was much larger Shop Rite with a liquor store next to it. The liquor store , which was privately owned, was also called Shoprite Liquors. If I remember correctly, it was then bought and became Tommy's Liquors.. It's a shame that the town can't keep one supermarket in the town or a good liquor store for that matter..one with some good wines for those BYOBs.
  11. What exactly do you mean by "Italian style" ?
  12. MJP, Funny you should mention Jo-Jo. I was the person who suggested it to Curlz, a while ago. When I was a kid, I spent summers in Staten Island, and there was a Bar/pizzeria around the corner from us. My Aunt's friend made the pizza, there, so we would go to the back door and get a free pie... :-) There was a certain smell to the place, that I remember it to this day, and one day I walked into Jo Jos and there it was.. that same smell, and it's the ONLY place that smells like it.. The pizza at JoJo's is excellent.. This time it was too far to go, but I will certainly head back there.
  13. Lots of cars surrounding the Restaurant..so I'm thinking they are doing well. Rutherford is not much of a haul, since I live on Main Ave , about a half mile from Costco. Just over the bridge and down Union Ave. My family used to live in Rutherford and I do remember getting pies from there. It's been a while, but I will definitely try them next time. Thanks for reminding me.
  14. Thanks for the suggestions. I also found previous posts on pizza, and I went with the closest..Chris's pizza on Van Houghton. In a word..terrible..Dry, with hardly any descernable crust.. Ghostrider..isn't it amazing how that UNO is jammed. Once again, another hit for mediocre food.
  15. Need a recommendation for good take out pizza in the Clifton Area.. I don't like Ralph's in Nutley.. Help!
  16. As mentioned below, I live on Main Ave and to get onto and off Rt #3 on the weekends, I usually drive up to Passaic Ave. I believe a lot of people are also making that choice, as I see the traffic line getting smaller and smaller. Just rediculous...
  17. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Tax Revenue
  18. This is not about food, but since you mentioned you were going.. I was dissapointed at the Penn & Teller show. I know they are strange but it was just weird.. I would instead go see 'O".. I've eaten at and can recommend Olives, Restaurant X, Mon Ami Gabi, Mesa Grill, the Buffet at the Bellagio and at the Alladin..and Circo. I would go with eating breakfast and dinner..
  19. House brand in containers.
  20. Where exactly is this place? Think I'll take a trip tomorrow.
  21. Curlz, Chipotle is a good thing. There's one a few doors down from my office in NYC. Packed every day! Oh, and I live right down the street from that mall.. I listened to some old geezer on the Planning Board say that traffic would not be affected... HA!
  22. I read an article a few months back that The Church Street Cafe has a new chef . Anyone been lately?
  23. Another place comes to mind, that isn't mentioned here often, Corrado's in Rutherford. Food and service have always been excellent. I often choose the fish specials and have never been disappointed. and it's a BYOB!!
  24. ← Yes, but 3 days later, there it was!! Call. Maybe they stocked up! ←
