  1. Thanks Ghostrider, I'd forgotten Spring Grill. Did you know that a new Thai restaurant opened on Main Ave in Passaic Park? I've had a few orders of take out and they are also quite good.. It's a small place just off Van Houghton with parking behind the restaurant.
  2. And it came to ???
  3. A friend of mine was suppsoed to dine there, this evening and she received an email telling of the close. What a shame. I loved this place.
  4. What a shame... Nothing on this site has made it, since the Backstreet Gourmet closed.
  5. Not Really...I just don't dine out that much anymore.
  6. Whole Foods also carries Ginger Beer.
  7. I was there several years ago and although I don't recall what I ordered, the food and the dining experience was wonderful. I'm sorry I haven't been back. Definitely go...

The shrimp with mayo is not really all that western. I have dined with my asian friends and when they order, we've had a similar dish with shrimp and walnuts with a light mayo sauce. It is interesting, but not one of my favorites.
  9. I found Stew's wines to be a bit overpriced. I was really looking forward to the TJ's. There REALLY is no good food store in Clifton. I shop at the WF in Montclair or West Orange.
  10. When I went to Oceanos, in Fairlawn, on Saturday, I noticed that they have garden seating.
  11. A few friends and I spent New Years Eve at The Liberty House. It was a disaster. From driving in circles for a half hour.. ( there were road blocks due to flooding the day before...and the GSP was no help at all)...to not seating us until ALL the guests arrived, even though the table was paid for...to freezing to death at our table. They actually had the air conditioning on full blast coming down on our table. I wore my fur coat the whole night....and mediocre food. And the management were down right rude and not at all attentive to our complaints. Nuf said
  12. My group had a very nice dinner at Oceanos, last evening. This restaurant is very nice appointed but can be a bit noisy. The Bergen Record had an article, recently, about the owner. He has a home in Greece where he maintains and produces several varieties of olives An assortment of those olives were placed on the table with his homemade sourdough bread along with a dish of his wonderfully pungent olive oil. A good start to any meal. We decided to share the Greek Salad and Mediteranean Dip appetizer for starters. We were three and the salad was enough to staisfy all of us. It was a nice assortment of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta, and mixed greens with a lemon mint vinegarette. The vinegarette was perfect for this salad. I see in an above post there is a pic of the Mediteranean dips that included the usual hummus, and babaganoush, but also had a blue cheese and pimento and another that I can't recall. For entrees, I chose the sesame tuna over soba noodles; one friend chose the Diver Scallops over Spinach with Lemon Potatoes and the other friend chose the Pan Seared Salmon drizzled with a Raspberry Balsamic Vinegarette. I pursuaded my friend to share one of her scallops and they were really good. In fact, all were excellently prepared. We chose not to have dessert but just have coffee. It was a good choice and I will definitely be back again.
  13. We have enough TJ's in the area now... Wegman's PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  14. Has anyone been here, since they opened?
  15. Oh sorry: Stockpot Inc 20 Church St Montclair, NJ 07042-2770 Phone: 973-744-5503 Right next door to the Church Street Cafe. Try the mulligatawny. ← Yum..One of my favorite soups! I hate going to Church Street. It's always so hard to find parking in that area.
  16. What are you looking for? A & S is an excellent Italian Salumeria, and has several varities of pork sausage. It's a small store but has excellent products.
  17. A & S Pork Store on Franklin Ave, in Nutley has excellent Sausage.
  18. Address please.
  19. Westmont Country Club, The Venetian in Garfield, Crystal Plaza in Livingston. The Manor is too large a venue to have that kind of special feeling that one expects on their wedding day.
  20. No but I live on Main Ave in Clifton, so I'll have to stop by, soon. Thanks for the heads up.
  21. Sounds interesting. What is the exact location?

Is an EGullet group going? I'd love to join anyone... PM me, please...............
  24. I thought they were in line with other upscale restaurants in our area. I did find that the dessert that I had was a litle small, but otherwise I thought it would be worth a return visit.
  25. Had dinner at Mama Tucci's this evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Started out with an amuse buche of sweet potatoe and squash soup. It had just the right amount of spice ...a nice start. Then I enjoyed an appetizer of Carcioffi friti with a caper aioli. YUM.. Then onto the entree of Oak Planked Salmon drizzled with a balsamic reduction and I ended the meal with a chocolate panna cotta, and coffee. Everything was prepared perfectly and was nicely presented. Wait staff was attentive without be oververly so.. I will definitely be going back.
