Personally I think Snoqualmie Falls Pancake and Waffle Mix is the best. http://www.snoqualmiefalls.com/store/featured.shtml

New York Style Pizza in Seattle area

I have had frozen Flying Pizza from New York and was surprised they used muenster cheese instead of mozzerella. Is this typical of NY-style pizza? or is it just what Flying Pizza uses? -
New York Style Pizza in Seattle area

I like Tutta Bella and have yet to visit Cafe Lago, but I'd also add Pazzo's on Eastlake as good wood-fired pizza (I like to buy a couple 6-inch 2-topping personal pizzas for lunch. Seattle hasn't had an authentic, hand-tossed NY pizza since Abruzi's was torn down to build Nike Town. -
French Fries and ketchup. (Neither is a vegetable).

I would love to get one of those steak or roasts of the months gifts but I don't know anyone who'd spend $1100 on me. http://www.stockyards.com/products.asp?dept=67

Seattle entries in "Top 100" Chinese restaurants

This reminds me of the usually reliable Chili Pepper Magazine listing Azteca as the best Mexican food in the state of Washington. -
This reminds me of Chili Pepper recently magazine saying Azteca (http://www.aztecamex.com) is the best Mexican food in the state of Washington. Anyone from here knows it's one of the worst chains in the NW.

Is home cooking on the irrevocable decline?
elswinger replied to a topic in Food Traditions & Culture
It has nothing to do with being rich, it's all about having time and energy. I am in the $30-35k a year bracket (which is poor for Seattle) and though I love to cook, I wind up eating out way more than I want to (or can afford). I work 40 hours a week, have kidney dialysis 3 nights a week, which takes up 15 hours of my time, and all the commuting to and from is another 13 hours. (Total away from home is 68 hours). I'm only home Tuesday and Thursday nights and the on weekend, so frankly I'm tired. I only wind up cooking from scratch on the weekend (Tuesday and Thursday it's either order pizza or Chinese or cook a frozen dinner). With so many two income housholds and some people even having to work multiple jobs (I know one person who works three) eating out is pretty much the only option. -
Ask her to get a web page too! I like looking at cheese almost as much as I like eating it.

Two Oscar Meyer All Meat weiners cut in half (legth-wise), microwaved for 5 seconds (just to make them warm), served on white bread with Miracle Whip, lettuce, and crunched up Ruffles, washed down with a cold glass of milk. -
I have to go with Whole Foods because I think they have a pretty decent selection and they will let you sample it before buying. Has anyone ever ordered cheese online? I have looked at some websites but I am a little leary of ordering perishable food off the net.

If you got the geese stoned so they would have the munchies, would that still be considered force-feeding?

Thanks for the link HKDave. I had always wanted to know the difference between a City Ham and a Country Ham.

I take it we don't have refridgeration (if we did I would pick Marie Calendar's Chicken Pot Pie), so I'll choose cans of a hearty beef stew with lots of vegetables.

Regular Kraft Macaroni & Cheese with a teaspoon of butter and garlic salt and pepper. -
I haven't been to Thaiku but I must defend Matador. Everytime I've been there the food was great and the service quick and friendly.

I was going to say my front yard, but those are different kinds of mushrooms. Seriously, you might try the Herbfarm (http://www.herbfarm.com) but it's a bit pricey. On the cheap, it's about time for Pagliacci's Mushroom Primo Pizza too.

Taco Bell’s “Grilled Stuft! Steak Burrito with extra cheese and Baja sauce. Chicken gizzards dipped in Krusteaz Instant Pancake mix, deep fried and dipped in Tabasco and ketchup. Macaroni and Cheese with Spam. Baked beans with chopped up Oscar Meyer Weiners. -
When you say you are "coming into a lot of pork chops" I'm just curious, is this your inheritance?

How's Roxy's potato salad? What I was actually looking for though is a "deli", as in, a shop that sells, meats (cold cuts), cheeses, and breads, that I would take home and make sandwiches myself. I am really looking for some good bologna, cotto salami, etc. for an upcoming Hoagey party. The deli section at my local grocer (Wedgewood QFC is piss poor).

If I am tired or in a bad mood and just want some comfort food ai will revert to my childhood grilled cheese: White bread toasted lightly with butter, with three slices of Kradt Deluxe American cheese heated up under the broiler or in a toaster oven. If I'm in a good mood and want to treat myself: Havarti, swiss, ham, and turkey on sourdough, grilled in a panini maker, quartered and dipped in hot salsa.

I would like to try my hand at making Carne Asada. I was wondering what cut of steak would be recommended and any recipes would be greatly appreciated.
