Husband's birthday coming up. He loves blackforest cake. Any ideas where to order from? Tried from Veniero's several years back and was disappointed. Any other ideas?

See if Cafe Sabarsky (run by the Walsee group) can do it. Or Ceci-Cela (their mini version is okay). Thirty years ago there wouldn't have been any problem. Sigh.

There used to be a bakery called "steinway bakery" or something like that in Astoria (Queens). Their blackforrest was the best I have had in the US. Don't know if it is still there.
