Next month (April) my parents move to Vancouver. My dad has lived there previously, and they have visited enough to be familiar with the area.

They're moving to an area near Stanley park, but whatever is in the city will be fine.

My stepmother is a very good cook - and she is eager to take some Japanese cooking lessons in Van when she arrives.

Does anyone here have ideas as to a good cooking school that she might attend?

Thanks,

Radio

I know that VCC has a Chinese cooking program. I'm not sure about Japanese though. Good marketing for a Japanese restaurant to offer classes  the three big cooking schools focus on traditional European cuisine/techniques as far as I can tell.

Thanks! I'll mention that to her.

You'd think it wouldn't be hard to find japanese cooking lessons in Van, I'm quite surprised.

The Cookshop & Cookschool at City Square offers monthly hands-on sushi classes and occasionally features sessions on other components of Japanese cooking. Their sushi classes are usually sold out in advance, so I'd recommend checking their online schedule and booking early.
