I searched for this, and found lots of threads about knife sharpening in general and some on specific places to go in some towns, but none for South Florida.

So, who knows where to go in Miami or Fort Lauderdale for good knife sharpening? I have a beautiful set of Sabatier knives, and I've been complaining that I need them sharpened for months. We asked the butchers at Whole Foods and the Fresh Market but they said they can't do it.

Try the yellow pages under "sharpening services" (I saw 3 places listed for Miami in the online yellow pages). Also ask some cooks in restaurants. I found my sharpening service in Jacksonville through the yellow pages here. The fellow goes around to restaurants late at night - and - when he's through with the restaurants - he parks his truck in my driveway (his truck is actually a shop) and sharpens my knives. If you can't find someone like this - try Williams Sonoma - Sur La Table in Palm Beach Gardens or a local kitchen store. A lot of those places have knife sharpening events from time to time. Robyn

That's it! I had looked under knives. There's one not too far from me in Aventura. Thanks!

I finally got my knives sharpened at a place called All Brands Vacuum at 18480 W Dixie Hwy - they sharpened 5 of my knives overnight and charged $7.75 - so far I've only used my chef's knife - but it's gone from not going through a scallion to slicing fresh tuna as if it was butter.

South East Cutlery in Ft. Lauderdale sharpens many southeast Florida restaurant knives. I don't think they have a website, but their phone number is 1-800-842-4707.
