I hate smoke and Switzerland is still way behind in providing nonsmoking areas in restaurants. Things are changing though. I found this site that guides you to the smoke free places.

you can also check the listings at smokefreeworld.com I don't know how their listings for switzerland stack up, but they've been incredibly helpful to me when visiting France and Italy.
