nonblonde007: This probably isn’t what you are looking for: clean-out-the-fridge red curry scrambled eggs. These are different every time, a great way to play with Thai curry flavors, and one of my absolute favorite things to eat. Today's version: mash Thai chiles, ginger, shallot, garlic, shrimp paste, palm sugar and salt in the mortar. Crack coconut cream, fry the paste, season with fish sauce and roasted chile paste, lower the heat, scramble the eggs low and slow, and top with basil chiffonade. Lime wedges would have hit the spot, but we were out.

BTW, Your's are my favorite posts, I can now look at a photo and know that it is one of your creations not by just the quality of the picture, but by the creativity and downright pornographic edibility of your food! :wub: (I almost feel like one of the old Elvis fans when he would walk on stage and they would scream, cry, faint and be transported to some strange euphoric existance) :wink:

Bruce, I'm amazed how often you have "coconut milk"/ Thai/curry/Malaysian/etc, etc in your meals - and breakfast to boot! Every one of your dishes look delectable. :wub:

My usual breakfast is a toasted high fibre (6 gms. in 2 slices/180 cals/ sprout grain/no flour) sandwich with tomato, salad greens and fresh basil. I'm as addicted to this as I am to curries. :biggrin:

When the kids are all home, we have buttermilk Belgian waffles, bacon, eggs and homemade peach/apricot/pineapple conserve. I have an old NordicWare stovetop waffle maker and they are the best!

Morning always starts off with a cuppa homebrewed Tim Horton's mixed with Starbuck's House Blend coffee.

For me today was 3 eggs scrambled into a skillet of fried panang curry paste (storebought sadly) and a handful of freshly cut chives, with some squares of jarlsberg cheese mixed in for the dairy foodgroup.

I am truly honored to have coined a phrase :rolleyes: . ( just don't check the dictionary, I doubt it is in there, simply inadequate words to describe feelings those pics evoke)

Eggs benedict with salmon 2 ways: Scottish smoked and roasted Copper River. No muffin to cut down the carbs. A great way to start the weekend!

Nice idea Lisa, i'm definately substituting ham for smoked salmon next time i make Eggs Benedict.

This morning i couldn't resist buying the ingredients for a British 'fry-up' at my butchers. Not had one for a while and compromised by not having the bangers and mushrooms too. The black pudding was delicious, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, yum!!

It's hard to get nice blood pudding here in the states. What's the meat to the left of the eggs? Country ham? What's in the beans?

It's hard to get nice blood pudding here in the states. What's the meat to the left of the eggs? Country ham? What's in the beans?

The mysterious meat on the left is (exotic) back bacon!! :biggrin: The beans were just warmed through in the pan at the end to pick up all the tasty bits. The quality of black pudding does vary a lot over here too. The bad ones are just bland and insipid, the good ones are a taste sensation.

Watch this space, i'll post pictures of the FULL ENGLISH when i get the chance and when i feel the need to clog arteries.

No one wishes to share interesting breakfast this week? It's like turning on your favorite show only to find a rerun you didn't like. I was quite busy this weekend so breakfast was a charbucks latte. I want some vicarious breakfast!

I had a scrambled egg with broccoli eaten with two corn tortillas. It was supposed to be scrambled with cream cheese, too, but I misjudged the heat of my pan and the egg cooked before I could add the cream cheese to it. Sucks to be me!

LisaK, this was a rerun of sorts but we liked it: a clean-out-the-fridge breakfast of chorizo-fried rice; stir-fried broccolini with chorizo, garlic, and chiles; eternal cukes; and a dipping sauce of ginger, lime, chiles, garlic, fish sauce, and sugar. Copious coffee, of course. That oughta hold me and elder son (well, maybe not elder son) until the ribs are done this evening.

That looks Fantastic! I am glad I am not the only one who craves nontraditional "breakfast" food in the mornings.

My breakfasts have never been the same since I learned how to freeze bacon one slice at a time! I admit to being a bit slow on the uptake. Now I can have a piece of bacon whenever I want which is very nice for me. Yummy!! :wink:
