Oregon vintners show no fear at Copia:

Napa News article

Vintners from more than 60 Oregon wineries bravely entered the portals of Copia last weekend to offer samples of their varietals to sophisticated Napa Valley wine drinkers. Would the crowd snub them, scoff at their efforts and proclaim our home-valley wines superior to those of the interlopers?

None of the more than 600 wine-tasting aficionados on Saturday appeared to be snubbing or scoffing at the wines. They crowded the tables that lined the walls, jostling for samples of the 40 varietals being poured. Not surprisingly, of the 40 varietals, the scales tipped heavily toward Oregon's well-known pinot noir.

If you can make it in Napa, you can make it anywhere, as the song goes ...
