Lunch in Bethesda?

Looking for a really good restaurant in Bethesda to have an extended lunch on my weekday off. French or Italian would be preferable.

its been known to happen in our mileu and purlieus....personally... well its not in bethesda an environ us northeast brooklanders dont get to that much: why travel to montgomery county's antiquated draconian liquour laws when exquisite tapas (and french bistro fare) exist at a certain 7th and f establishment, the flagship of which bethesda chain is in question?

if you have to eat in B-town, and want french or italian, try cesco....or maybe persimmon.

for red sauce italian, la panneterria isnt bad.

Raku is good if you like Japanese. And I do have to recommend Green Papay on Elm Street - pretty good Vietnamese food and the restaurant is lovely.
