Proof of concept prototype: 
 
Sapporo can with top. Copper tube and aquarium pump. Bent piece of lid inserted protects the copper's outlet. Works great! I user the soldering iron to light and it takes off from there and produce a lot of smoke, A. Lot. Of. Smoke.

just to be clear for me:

 

the lid is bent to protect the inlet and provide a little space for the iron, then the cooper tube when completely lit.

 

the aquarium pump then pumps air down the cooper tubing to keep the generator smoking 

 

nice

 

i may have to revive my "Chinese tea tin" smoker, with the added copper tube and aquarium pump feature
