I have a single Burton induction plate. I'm thinking of using it more and more. My first step will be to get a pair of non-stick fry pans from IKEA. 9 and 11 "

IKEA 365+.

I also thought id try a stainless steel pan to see how those go on the plate.

Tramontina seems to have three grades: one Ill call 'regular' 30 $ 10" or 12 "

Prima 45 $ 10 " and Domus 50 $ 10"

the two more expensive pans are said to oven safe to 500 degrees and the entry level only to 350

degrees.

Anyidea why that might be? one single 10" pan is not going to brake the bank, so Im thinking one of the more $$ ones.

unfortunately they are not around locally to see and peak at.

the Walmart versions are not in the stores but one can order them for free delivery to the stores.

here are the pics

I believe the cheapest one is all steel. the more expensive ones might have a thicker bottom but its difficult to compare weights as the handles and lip are different.

I was hoping someone might have one of these and have some ideas on the different oven temp ratings.

those came from slightly different links:

Wal: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tramontina-Gourmet-10-Tri-Ply-Clad-Saute-Pan/19581190

BB&B:

Amazon says 450 on the two more $$ pans, does not carry the cheaper one. sorry about the underline.

in rethinkng this I have the feeling Walmart didnt do as much research. they might all be rated 450 - 500.

the tramontina site does not seem to have the 30 $ model as they also have a tri-ply clad that is not magnetic.

so this may be a lot about nothing.

JCPenny's has the Prima, so I may go take a peak.

as i only have one induction plate, and won't be getting more anytime soon due to electrical issues, Ill see how the IKEA non-stick works out.

I have a very large selection of high end FR copper and calphalon pans. more pans i need not. just wanted to fiddle a little.
