Help!? Mentaiko, Cod, Pollack or Whiting

Recommended Posts

I bought non frozen Salted Whiting roe... I didnt realize that it said Whiting till I got home.

Is this the same as the Mentaiko for Cod Roe Spaghetti? Yet Wikipedia says Mentaiko is Pollack Roe.

Which one is Mentaiko, Whiting, Cod or Pollack?

Wawa Sizzli FTW!

In Korea it is normally pollack, cod, and sometimes whiting. Most popular is cod and pollack, but that is anecdotal, not backed up by numbers. I think when Japanese make Mentaiko it seems it is usually cod? Is is spiced already or fresh?

Edited for butterfingers on the iPad.
