Hello all! I'm headed on an annual trek to Hamden, CT way and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for coffee shops to hang out/work in or for "can't miss" coffee? Also any place that's a must visit aside from Yale area. Thanks!

I'm not sure if I know great coffee places, but I used to live in Hamden and have lots of Hamden restaurants on my New Haven area Google map: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&safe=off&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&start=0&num=200&msa=0&msid=106324921966915789140.00044a96c7a994f455333&ll=41.459195,-72.773437&spn=1.220585,2.469177&z=9

I like Ibiza Tapas and Wine Bar Restaurant, The Terrace, for Thai (exceptionally good and non-typical) and Mickey's. The Playwright Irish Pub Restaurant might be a place for you to hang out.

You might like the Woodland Coffee & Tea locations in downtown New Haven.

Banished from Chowhound; I like it just fine on eGullet!

If you`re not big enough to lose, you`re not big enough to win! Try this jalapeno, son. It ain't hot...

Thank you! Still hoping someone can help me with local coffee suggestions - if any are available.

Great thing is you confirmed pree-cisely the restaurants I thought I'd try to see if I can get my group to visit, particularly Ibiza [so popular their website exceeded bandwidth) and Terrace!
