I am meeting some friends this weekend who are arriving at Penn Station. Other than steakhouses (which are a bit too expensive for my friends) are there any other good yet inexpensive places to eat in the vicinity? They are meat-and-potatoes kind of guys, and do not like restaurants that are too noisy or too hip. Any suggestions? They would like to stay near Penn Station, since their hotel is nearby. Thanks guys!

Not an area rich in ambitious culinary options.

Keens is less expensive if you dine in the pub area.

The Breslin is also fairly convenient.

Mandangsui (Korean BBQ) is also nearby. Make a reservation, as they are popular.

You can also walk to Grand Sichuan in Chelsea or Co. aka Company.
