Proper glass size for a 7cl martini?

Hi!

I like keeping dry martinis around 7cl (that's 2.36 oz) to keep it cool throughout consumption.

What's a good glass size for that? I want to have room for 2 olives and then have around 1cm (0.4 inches) up to the rim.

I know I'm being pedantic here, but bear with me ^^

EDIT: I guess I could use a larger glass, fill up with 7cl plus 2 olives plus 1cm and then measure the content, but I thought I'd ask in case someone here has the answer readily :)

EDIT 2: I did exactly that, and I need a glass of exactly 11 cl (3.71 oz) :)

EDIT 3: Ok, I'm talking to myself here, but I'll post it anyway, it might come in handy for someone else: This glass could also work. Although a bit larger than I wanted it, the ice would keep the drink cooler for longer.

These are what I use for small cocktails: Bormioli 4-oz. cocktail glasses. Just over 4 oz. to the top, they hold 3 oz. perfectly; they're nice looking and pretty durable.

As someone who has a version of those glasses, I'd say RUN, RUN from them. You need to have crushed ice in the base to make them work, a LOT of crushed ice. This is tough in a home situation, it took me almost a whole tray of ice cubes (don't have/need an ice maker) to make enough crushed ice to fill that thing.

Then, the ice melts together in the base as it sits, and becomes one solid mass, which you have to wrestle the glass back into. It's a pain, and the set I have is made of such thin glass, I always worried I'd have one of the blasted things shatter in my hand.

They look cool, very cool, I'll grant you that, but it is surely an idea whos time has NOT come. I have seen them used for shrimp cocktails, and I would use them for that....because you don't need to keep taking the bowl in and out of the base, so even if the base ice freezes solid, its not a big deal.

For drinks, go for a regular, stemmed, cocktail glass, and freeze it well before you fill it. For the size drinks you're making, that will keep the martini chilled for the duration.

Libbey's Embassy coupe comes in a variety of sizes. I know they make a 4.5 oz, and I think a smaller one as well. Judging by your metric measurements, I'm guessing you're not in the US, and I'm not sure of their international availability.

There was (at least when I lived there) a bar in Santa Fe that served martinis as a plain glass and a 6-inch bowl of ice with things in/on it. There was a flask of the martini down in the ice, it actually resembled a mini wine carafe. On top of the ice were 3 large olives, 3 pearl onions and three twists. There was enough martini to consume all of the garnishes if you poured 1/3 of it in the glass at a time. Most people consumed this from least to most flavorful: onion, olive, twist. I know the concept is similar to the glass that is so hated, but the larger open shape is easier to manage. The biggest drawback to this setup is that one must stay seated to enjoy it.
