Crumb topping for Coffeecakes

Serves 12 as Dessert.

This recipe makes a large amount of streusal topping and can be used for two cakes depending on how much cake topping is desired.

  • 3 sticks of butter
  • 2-1/4 c white sugar
  • 3 c all purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon

Mix well in a food processor or in a large bowl with a pastry cutter.

Put into the refrigerator overnight, covered, or in the freezer for 1 1/2 hours.

This is better when frozen first!

Crumble by hand over the baked coffeecake.
