Great shape, but kinda big though, no? 8.5 oz is way bigger than I've grown accustomed to....

i would guess that is how much the glass weighs rather than how much liquid it holds.

I would guess, based on knowing (and owning some of) Crate and Barrel's other cocktail glasses, that it's volume and not weight. I don't recall ever seeing glassware listed by weight. But who knows?

Regardless...I'm just happy with the shape and that they were affordable. And you don't have to fill it to the top if you don't wanna...obviously.

A friend just pointed me to the Bond Martini glasses from CB2 (Crate & Barrel's new store and line).

They look exactly like what I've been looking for - coupe shape, reasonable size (7 oz.), but their LA store doesn't open until sometime in the spring. I may order a couple just to see how much I like them before committing to a larger number, but things like this I usually like to have in hand before deciding.

this is my favorite glass, Libbey "Bristol Valley", nice edge(libbey's "sheer edge"), but still durable...

I just like the shape, seems classic to me...

about $75-90/case of 24...

I must say these are a nice variation of the "V" with the way the edge tapers up..just a thought

After scouring the web and restaurant supply stores, I finally had some success finding smallish glasses for an upcoming cocktail party. First I found some 4 oz simple cocktail glasses and some 3 oz with a faceted bulge in the stem and a restaurant supply store at 110 Bowery in downtown Manhattan. Most places I checked just had the standard Libbey lines, but I don't know where these were from. The cups of these glasses are neither V shaped or perfectly round, but are flattish at the bottom of the bowl. The two I described were my favorite but they had the best variety I found. They were a few bucks a glass and they sold the by the dozen or the case of 3 dozen.

The credit for the real victory goes to my wife, who found me real Nick and Nora style 5 oz glasses after I had given up. I couldn't even find a decent picture of what I wanted on the web, but my wife set out to best me, and succeeded. In fact, the place is in Manhattan and delivered the next day, so a sweet triumph it was indeed. She found them at a place called Pour Wines on Amsterdam and 75th, here's the link:
