Restaurant DJT at Trump (Vegas)

Recommended Posts

OK, I was browsing John Curtas Eating Las Vegas site and came across a few paragraphs about DJT at Trump. Curtas called it:

...the most important restaurant to open in town since Guy Savoy flew across the pond in 2006.

At the time I'm writing this, his link to a larger article doesn't work, and Trump's web page is not responding. Does anyone know anything about this restaurant?

Hi,

Thanks for the Question! I am the Chef de Cuisine of DJT and the Trump hotel. Chef Joe Isidori, myself and the team have been quietly putting together a very exciting project here preferring to gain respect through actuall dining experiences and word of mouth instead of relying on a fancy marketing/pr push with nothing to back it. We have been open since mid april serving dinner seven nights a week and operating a very sexy "High Champagne" thursdays - Sundays. Our food is contemporary American inspired by the best products from across the nation. I look forward to answering any questions anyone might have and look forward to cooking for all of you in the very near future!

Thanks for pointing this out. Over my last few trips to Las Vegas, I've watched the Trump hotel go up from my rooms at TI.

I love Las Vegas and am always on the look out for a new place. (I'll be there in a month) It will be interesting to see how this hotel compares to the big casino resorts up and down the strip. I wonder what the bar program is like. I'm always looking for a nice place to enjoy a drink without being in the middle of a noisy casino. Sometimes, I just gotta get away from that.

CHEFDV, Welcome to eGullet!!

I want to say thank you for the dinner I had at DJT a few weeks ago. I'll give my full report with photos later, after my report on the Vegas Uncork'd conference.

Here's the short report: DJT is definitely worth going to! My evening at DJT was at a surprising excellent level. Chef Isidori & CHEFDV accommodated me with a tasting menu, more on the seafood end, since I had steak the previous night. The wine pairings were wonderful. The decor & ambience at DJT and throughout the Trump Intl. says luxury & excellence. Even the parking valet service was complimentary! I would have expect nothing less from Donald Trump.

And yes, I'm planning to go back to DJT!

Food and I, we go way back ...

Any insight on the bar? I'm adding this to my possible dinner list, but our larger group is always on the lookout for a nice, quieter end bar to start the night! Unfortunately the website doesn't offer much info.
