We're heading to San Benito, Harlingen and Brownsville in March. I saw a posting on Harlingen/McAllen, but all the good BBQs seem to be further north. Any great BBQ or Mexican fare in or around Brownsville?

As far as BBQ goes, Robb Walsh mentions Vera's backyard bbq in his book, "Legends of Texas BBQ". I don't have any first-hand experience in that neck of the woods, but that might be a place to start.
