Classic cocktails in Montreal

Visting Montreal later this week, and wondering if there is anyone there doing classic cocktails along the lines of Milk & Honey, Death & Company, Flatiron, and other places in NYC.

Any suggestions? We will visit and report back if there is anything worth checking out.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but you could check out Wunderbar at the W Hotel. It's just such a scene that I'm not sure you'll even notice your drink.

BTW, dress up.

Less of a scene but still buzzing is a bar called Baldwin Barmacie at 115 Laurier Ave. W. It's also right next to some of the best restaurants in the city like Raza, Bazaar Anise and La Chronique.

But the short answer is I don't think there's anything approaching the level of the NY places. Best to do something else...

Agree with the suggestion of Baldwin Barmacie. Also worth checking out - my favourite of the new kids on the block - Code Bar on Rachel.
