I use the Wok Shovel/Spatula all of the time when I cook in my wok. No ladle, though I have seen it being used in Chinese cooking videos (in restaurant kitchens mostly). I also have a spider to help scoop fried things out of the oil in the wok. My cheap-o five dollar sheet-metal wok is finally getting some good "wok hei". As Mitch mentioned with his tools, the wood handle on my wok is a little loose but the wok still works great on my stove's electric coil burners (which I despise).

Does anyone have this ground beef tool? Recommendations?

When my mom was alive, I was her sous chef for holidays. I would pre-cook her pork sausage for her turkey stuffing in her cast iron skillet. I would crumble the sausage into the pan and cook it but would use the (metal) pastry blender to break the sausage up into smaller bits so there wouldn't be any big sausage chunks in her stuffing. The pastry blender worked very well for this job. -
Regarding the $1 difference I was seeing in price (see above post), yes, it was because of an Amazon credit that somehow kept not getting applied to my purchases. This cookbook came in my morning's BookBub email: "Breakfast for Dinner: Recipes for Frittata Florentine, Huevos Rancheros, Sunny-Side Up Burgers, and More!" Kindle Edition $1.99US (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) Use the "Look Inside" feature to see a recipe listing and scroll further down to see recipes. I am a US {Prime member and the price you see may vary.

You may need to enlarge the page to read the recipes. Measurements are Metric. I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary. Edited to add: This is really odd but as I was copying and pasting Amazon info into this discussion, I discovered all of the prices had gone up by a $1.00US. Very strange. I only hope they don't go up further in price. Edited again to say that the price difference may have something to do with the Amazon credit that I kept getting an error message about.

An odd duck this afternoon... Slightly more expensive... "Costco Just Added A Brand New Food Court Menu Item Here" No, it's not a Polish Dog (which is no longer sold at Costco Food Courts). No, it's not the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich (which is no longer sold at Costco Food Courts). No, it's not the Combo Pizza (which is no longer sold at Costco Food Courts during the Pandemic*). *I am hoping it will return after the Pandemic is over but won't hold my breath. Sadly, the sandwich has no pickles which makes me wonder what they're thinking. I suppose you could always sneak over to the hot dog relish dispenser if you need that little extra zing on your chicken sandwich.

I had asked an employee about some non-food items that went on sale (according to their ad circular) on Wednesday (which were sold out when I dropped by Aldi's after work). She said they're limited item sales that when they run out, they run out. She didn't say it outright but the implication from her was that they were intended to get people into the store on Wednesday's and they never got a lot of the items. She said there was usually a line at the door waiting for them to open on Wednesday' mornings and those limited items sell out first thing in the morning. Some store call them "loss leaders". They work, though, getting people into the stores.

Found an oldie this afternoon... From 1955, Duncan Hines' classic "The Dessert Book" Kindle Edition $2.99US (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) Use the "Look Inside" feature and scroll all of the way down to see some cake recipes (no box mixes!). Measurements are Imperial. I am a US Prime member and the price you see may vary.

The original recipe (click here) has been tweaked by Jacques (in your link). It's probably better since Beard's version is a little more...uhm, streamlined. Plus the original linked-to recipe seems to have the very end of the recipe lopped off for some reason (no big loss, really). I can't wait to try these. Thanks for the post.

Two slightly more expensive finds from this morning... I stumbled across this cookbook this afternoon: Mary Berry's "Fast Cakes: Easy bakes in minutes" Kindle Edition $0.99US (eG-friendly Amazon.com link) Use the "Look Inside" feature and scroll down to see some recipes. Martha Stewart's method is the reverse of Kenji's. She starts off with the high heat and then does the low and slow until it's done. There's always a lot of melted fat at the bottom of the pan when the roast comes out.

As a child, there were some small candies that were wrapped in a sort of rice paper. You just popped the whole thing into your mouth and the rice paper just dissolved. As I recall the rice paper had no flavor to it.
