No evidence that the Control Freak is more precise than the Paragon. The only additional function of the Paragon app is to show percent charge of the Bluetooth battery. Everything else is controllable via the front panel.

How about beef?

I hate to sound like a broken record* but why, why, other than a slightly low maximum wattage rating because of the US 120 volt plug, would anyone want any other induction cooktop but the Paragon? Precise control set by pan temperature. Precise control set by immersion probe temperature. Control set by wattage. Works day in by day out. A joy to use. *OK, for some things I enjoy sounding like a broken record.

Shepherd's/Cottage Pie. Mostly following this. I think the long braise adds a lot. First time I've touched my camera in months.

Just now I found a jar of Matiz piquillo peppers in my bedroom. Check yours.

If I had health, wealth, and energy for culinary projects beyond canned soup and once a month orgeat, I'd sure be interested in that new small bowl. -
I'm with you, @heidih, I do not care for jalapenos and much prefer serrano peppers.

Last night's dinner was a purple peep. That and a disastrously half raw anovaed oven chicken thigh, mashed potatoes, and a few frozen peas. Don't laugh, most extensive cooking I've assayed in some months. Note, although tempting, I had not cooked the purple peep. For the mashed potatoes I had intended to use the Breville potato mashing attachment, which has always served me well. Nothing happened. It was dead. I came here to bad mouth Breville. Turns out, as you may well have guessed, it was user error.

This was a struggle. I had to force myself: Batch 28: 90g blanched Spanish almonds 90g apricot kernels 350g water 280g sugar 30ml Wray & Nephew Overproof 30ml orange flower water Now if only I had limes.

Last night's dinner was a tin of Matiz wild small sardines with sweet piquillo peppers. Very good I thought.

When I was in Edinburgh I stayed in a dorm for students. I recall the breakfast porridge was quite good. That was in the 1960's though and circumstances may have changed.

I liked it... https://forums.egullet.org/topic/157787-dinner-2019/?do=findComment&comment=2222567 However this is eGullet and you may find disagreement.

The amazon preview was indeed delightful and I succumbed.

A New Jersey town east of where I live suffered a dumping of five hundred pounds of uncooked pasta shapes, including macaroni, along a streambed. The perpetrators have been identified, but not the motive.

I shall never again almost pour white wine over my bowl of Cheerios. Fortunately I caught myself. Full disclosure, opioids were involved.

My friend who generously provided me with half a lifetime of baklava reports that the rolled version with almonds is Moroccan (as is her husband), while the rest of the baklava variations she gave me were Turkish.
-
Jo was interested, however I fear the lime cheeks would not do well in my juicer. Amazon delivered fourteen more limes today.

We were not eating together, but a friend shared her baklava. I was expecting a couple of pieces. It was more like a couple pounds.

Reminds me, I got my renewal notice today.

Gluten free bread? -
Seriously, it doesn't look all that bad to me. More appetizing than the "American hamburger" in Scotland.

Yellowbird Serrano is a favorite of mine. I have three bottles in the bedroom.

I can't think of Taco Bell without hearing Janis Ian's Bayonne Blues in my head.
