  1. I didn't actually. I ate almost everything on the lunch menu, met Laurent, Inaki's partner, and reviewed the restaurant for a publication, but I have been too busy to dine there yet, and it is a little off the beaten track...

  4. Don't believe what I said in December. Jamin will now be a Antillais style restaurant, and Del Burgo lied to everyone (!) In fact Jamin almost sued him over all the rumours and falsehoods spread!!

  6. I thought I already mentionned this before... that his partner Laurent Chareau seemed a little worried about Inake's level of participation in TRANSVERSAL. He spoke of the opening of the CHATEAUBRIAND as being his main focus. He is still a quarter partner of TRANSVERSAL, but when I spoke to them about it I got the idea it was a sort of "consulting" type thing..

In "La Libération"'s article on the new Michelin guide rouge 2006, "La Rouge est grillé" (The red is cooked) it seems that not much has been learned from this year's intense criticism of the venerable guide. The results are as follows: Olivier Roellinger received his long-merited third star Joel Robuchon apparently receives four stars in total for his three restaurants in Paris and Monaco, aparently bringing a total of two for La Table, and one each for his two other Ateliers Pierre Gagnaire gets a star for Gaya Stella Maris gets one star Alain Ducasse keeps Benoit's star Alain Senderens gets two stars for his (admittedly anti-star) Senderens Surprise comes at not awarding a third star to the Meurice's Yannick Alleno, and the Bristol's Eric Frechon. They also express surprise at Frederic Anton's (last years two to three star "espoir"), not getting another.
  9. Unfortunately, the Figaroscope is totally wrong. Michel del Burgo has been telling everyone, for some strange reason, that he is taking over Jamin, which according to them caused them a lot of grief, and is simply not true. The sad thing is, Jamin is being turned into an Antillaise restaurant in another four days...

  11. Actually, it's quite confusing. As of wednesday, the Figaroscope said Michel Del Burgo was definitely taking over Jamin (as I thought was the case). Perhaps Babette is the investor, and he is the new chef...this is what I am thinking....If so, there's still hope
  12. I'd say a week to be safe. And don't be afraid to tell them you are vegetarian.
  13. No article would make them change their pricing policy, especially an American newspaper. Reservations have been difficult since their opening due to the quality/price ratio, although that article won't help things (in terms of ease of getting a table!)
  14. They're closing February 7th. Michel del Burgo has nothing to do with the new project, the restaurant having been bought out by Babette de Rosière, a French TV presenter.

  17. Madame Camdeborde told me a couple of weeks ago that they were closed for the entire month of January for renovation..
  18. I would probably forget Chez Denise, as I went there recently, and ordered the cote de boeuf, which was on the table just a few minutes later, to my surprise-meaning it was pre-cooked!
  19. No. He asked arte to sell him a copy. I have been able, on numerous occasions, to purchase "not for sale" recordings of TV shows for VIP clients of mine, with a little persuasion, for their own interest and side projects. Any time I've asked to BUY the tape, it was always denied.
