  1. It's true. He's apparently tired of Paris and going elsewhere. It's been in the works for awhile, and has been mentionned elsewhere..
  2. I would drop the Jules Verne idea like a hot potato. It is touristy, and the view is far too high to be interesting. Also the staff change all the time, and are not very user-friendly. For the price much better can be had.
  3. Frogs, snails, horse, etc at the time of the Commune?
  4. What do you think about this fooding thing?
  5. These are the same results that came out weeks ago no?
  6. Another note of interest, where Yves Cambdeborde describes his upcoming establishment as a 35-seater brasserie, in the same mould as La Régalade.
  7. In the Figaro, I enjoyed the Yves Cambdeborde interview
  8. Taillevent is probably the establishment that fits the bill most correctly having had three stars for more than 30 years now,but I've also had excellent meals at Guy Savoy, Arpege, Grand Véfour, Relais d'Auteuil, Michel Rostang, Jamin, Les Magnolias, Astrance, L'Ami Louis, and numerous others. I hesitate, myself, actually, to name any of these establishments personally, "temples", I was actually just correcting the grammar of the aforementionned post.
  9. Nope. Temple to gastronomy isn't gramatically correct. But whatever.
  10. What is a "gastronomic temple to experience"? Anything like a "temple to gastronomic experience"?
  11. Le Duc has no Michelin stars, and Androuet has indeed closed on Arsene Houssaye.
  12. Many restaurants do a special New Year's Eve menu, and many are open. The good ones are already fully booked (**/***). I'd stay in if I were you, and avoid the overwhelming flood of riff-raff from the banlieu in places like the Champs Elysees, Trocadero, Latin Quarter and Chatelet areas..
  13. La Cuisine got three (not two hearts) in the Figaroscope. Their other establishment "Le Petit Champenoix" got a two-heart rating (in the same Figaroscope article, no less)
  14. As good as Lasserre as in that they are both vastly overrated.
  15. Interesting thing about "La Cuisine" in the Figaroscope, which got three hearts , but also two hearts for the "Petit Champenoix", owned by the same person. Figaroscope's credibility seems a little shaky in this respect..
  16. Rostang.
  17. It's been open for ages now.
  18. Montorgeuil has been suffering for awhile. What was once the oldest market street in Paris, a few years back suffered a property boom (think an upscale Oberkampf) which inflated the "bobo" population, and brought a stream of mediocre, fake-trendy establishments. The market's are expensive, as in most of the markets in upscale neighborhoods now. It is in the heart (formerly, the belly) of Paris, and is well-placed however for many of its designer, textile magnate, and tourist broker residents.
  19. *****SCOOP***** Actually Ducasse and his other chef was there.. It was Marc Veyrat and Pierre Gagnaire who didn't show up for reasons unknown!

  21. Isn't that what I said?
  22. Last Tuesday, Alain Ducasse cooked a private dinner for virtually all of the three star rated Michelin chefs in Europe. Feast you eyes on this...

I, for one, have not yet tried it, but have heard only glowing reports ...
