  1. Try the 10eme and then we're talking..
  2. You've been there, then. Their tartar wasn't half-bad...
  3. Not L'Appart off of the Champs Elysees? If so, it has no such concept..It was a nicely decorated (like, surprise , an apartment..) that offered a relatively classic cuisine, and had a nice downstairs "library" dining room and bar. They changed ownership years ago, and I have no idea who runs it now--used to be Jacky of SPICY fame (FD Roosevelt, 8eme)

    Les Magnolias

Madame Chauvel says yes, but they're still trying to find the right place..
  5. Atelier de Maitre Albert has a nice bar area.. Avoid the Senderens bar upstairs like the plague..
  6. La Pointe Ephemere is great. Just down the road from Prune is le "50", a small, diner-like bar that has good cocktails, cheap beer and music on weekends. Eclectic and laidback.
  7. Verre Volé is a great place. I just moved nearby so I plan to frequent them more often! As an aside, the Hotel du Nord, just across the canal is a nice place for a cool beer, although the food is a little mediocre..
  8. GoGo anyone? They will be relaunching next week as a fully English online guide to Paris. With some reviews by yours truly...
  9. Concerning Piege, my info is that he is still at Les Ambassadeurs. I have an excellent connection with Legendre, and as said before, have heard no rumors from Le Cinq kitchen... Everyone knows now that Enrico is going to open a restaurant in Cassis based on a wine/food pairing cuisine. Opening next year at a great little property, and supported by a two-star Michelin chef...Dutchmuse, you must be pals with a certain Dutch sommelier, no??
  10. Another f-scope rumormill jobby, then...
  11. Just got a copy. It's not bad, I was hoping for better. The maps are nice in the back, citing all the restos by arondissement, but it looks like a rush job to me... especially for 6.50 Euros...... Shame Pariscope stopped their TIMEOUT English section a couple years back...
  12. Well, I have a little bit of an insider connection to Legendre, I know him well, and haven't heard these rumours from anyone in his kitchen, which is strange, but he does have a hell of a lot of pressure... and Terrail dined often enough at Le Cinq..even up until 2 weeks of his demise
  13. What do you all think of the rumours that Legendre is going to the Tour d'Argent and Piege to Le Cinq? That's what the Figaroscope is saying, but I seem to remember their proclamation that Del Burgo was going to Jamin , just before it turned into an "island cuisine" restaurant....
  14. I missed out on Gagnaire, Ledeuil, Inaki and Marx... anyone got pics?
  15. I'll be paying 5 Euros today for a Gagnaire dish at the Fooding event....not a bad bargain..
  16. Foie gras' one of my favorite vegetables.
  17. Most étoilés would make an effort- I've had fine experiences having Guy Savoy (very accomodating), Taillevent, Arpege (obviously) , Gagnaire, Table de Robuchon, Relais d'Auteuil, Ledoyen, etc create special menus for my clients. Even the Espadon now has a fully vegetarian tasting menu on certain days..
  18. Nope.Couscous is the most popular dish in France according to most polls.

  20. It probably is a foodie tourist trap.
