    Tour d'Argent

Well let's hope that his unfortunate passing makes some change in the staffing.... some of the maitre d's are odious..
  4. Twas indeed.
  5. The Figaroscope reported today that Yves Camdeborde has just opened a new takeaway spot at 3 Carréfour de l'Odeon, next to his hotel and restaurant Le Comptoir. On sale will be cakes, Belgium waffles, crepes, a daily dish and soup, and sandwiches with breads from Ladurée, Lenotre, Julien and the Boulangerie Monge). There will be products from Camdeborde's butcher brother. Sandwiches include: saussisons, beure , cornichon, and marinated Chinese chicken and tandori chicken. Anyone been?
  6. That's why they publish notes like this on their website reviews..... Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.
  7. Yes, but when is the Travel Channel putting it on iTunes???? I can't get it here in Paris...
  8. It always helps to try for a last minute cancellation. I've had several at L'Astrance recently for clients of mine.
  9. Forget it. Lots of hype. Lots of good advance reviews. Lots of tourists.
  10. Wow! I didn't know Thierry Marx had a restaurant in Paris! Where is it? Must be some super-insider place that only Brasilians know about...

    Trendy?

Forget the Passage Senderens bar, it's disgusting. For a real bar experience try the Hemingway (expensive), or Le Forvum, or the Rosebud in Montparnasse.

    Trendy?

Forget Mandalaray, it's terribly passé. And Nobu Paris has been out of business for years now.
  13. Cool concepts, big chefs, but pretty pedetrian-looking dishes... were they special?
  14. Yeah well Kong is cool cause they probably need all the business they can get !
  15. The problem is that people WILL find out, and eventually the place will have small crowds of backpacking, hawaiin shirt wearing tourists all gawking and taking pictures all day long...
  16. Great, soon it'll be just like a certain brasserie in the Galerie Vivienne features in a Jack Nicholson comedy..
  17. I'll try it later on this week..
  18. That's why I'd like the paper copy...guess I'll have to order one
  19. Well I've never seen prices less than 300 E when I went there, so I guess you did get a bargain!
  20. All this conversation makes me regret not ordering the horse carpaccio with garlic in Sardegna a Tavola last weekend...
  21. Great, but how can I get it here in France?? iTunes has Travel Channel stuff now, but only the crap...
  22. They've always been a shoestring operation, and I for one, think there are a great many other magazines of a far superior quality. I wanted to enjoy it, after reading all of the advance press that they were something "new and different" (I was the very first to discuss them on egullet, actually soliciting a response from Jane Goldman , their editor, who created an account to respond) , but they turned out to be very ho-hum.
  23. They've got it online now. http://www.lefooding.com/guide.htm
  24. Taillevent under 200 a head???????? Since when?
  25. Damn! Forgot to buy La Libération thursday with the free Fooding Guide! Did anyone else get a copy? Guess I'll have to special order it through my neighborhood kiosque...
